You got an uncle in the states that you're using for a shipping address PK? Sucks that I got no connection south of the border.

I placed an order and it went though. I printed out all the information for my recorders. I sent the link to the lawyer for my business so he could get one also. I don’t think I will get it but I will take a $200 gift card for them getting up my hopes.
They did charge my credit card so I better get something.

If I don’t get a TV I’m not going to be pissed or want to sue, but it will make me not want to stop at best buy next time I need to pick up an electronic gizmo. I know there are not many other choices out there in the lines of stores for some stuff.
If they admit to there mistake in a timely manner with an email then they will not loose as much of my trust.

It won't work. This is posted on the site, link at the bottom of their pages. As long as they have posted their Terms and Conditions, they are safe from reproach.

The best promotion they could do is to LOUDLY honor those orders - that would get them positive press (aka advertising) worth more than the products they practically gave away.

If you listed the supercharger price as $9.99 and 100 people ordered would you honor that price and take that loss? That would make you a stand up kinda guy but do you really think that would do anything extra for your sales? Would you fire the guy that made the mistake?
I would never make a mistake that big. And yes, I have covered (smaller) mistakes like that in all of my businesses I have owned. And yes, when I have done that, I believe my customer retention stays very high, resulting in more sales over time.
What I'm saying is the positive press Best Buy could get out of their mistake is potentially huge. If someone crunched numbers, they would come up with a yes or a no. But I'm willing to bet they aren't even looking at it that way. Shame.

It is the American way, people want stuff for nothing. This is one of the problems with this country, people like to sue. You would probably have better luck putting your car in reverse, jumping out and letting the car run you over then sue the automaker for not having some sort of safety device to stop this from happening.
I agree w/ you 500% on the above...seen/heard reports of it w/ Home Depot. People nowadays, even if they are in a hurry, will waste their errand time to complain and get an employee fired because they weren't offered the price that was labeled under the item (even though the price tag description wasn't even of that items)......
We're savage...... :(

I'm w/ camell on this. Its to make up for their mistake..or tell the public a special offer is being ran on this TV, till further notice.
Usually clearanced merchandise have the label, "clearance" or "old model"....this is not the case w/ this TV in particular. I know, because my family and I bought a 32 inch some years ago from Best Buy w/ that tag clearance on it...
Kioshi
08-12-2009, 11:42 PM
they dont have to advertise it for it to be considered clearance to them
True, they dont have to, but THEY DO. Its better to advertise than to get thousands of inquires by random customers at store/online about why a particular item is at THIS price. Trust me, I've worked at hella retail places, customers are retarded about open packages and price slashes.....
Clearance tags have been put on at BestBuy stores here at the store nearest to me....as for online, a SALE text is added to items w/ reduced pricing.....
Check out this site: http://www.tendollarhdtv.com/
This guy is already trying to start a class action lawsuit

trust me the more people inquire/call the higher the percentage of potential buyers , so they managed to get you into the store and browse there is a possibility you might buy something else, i rarely leave an electronics store without something
Thats not always true. You have the part right about bringing in people to browse, but not majority will buy unless they see..."monkey see, monkey do"
Go to Bestbuy.com, put the cursor over OUTLET STORE, that same TV that was on here for $9.99...and read the whole description bro~~
Actually here is the last part - "Remember to check back often, as the products and deals are changing all the time"......
Never did it say it was a clearance or last year's item, just special offerings on it, AND i think we all know why the special offerings are on it....LOL

You seem really Pro BestBuy...lol no offense, it use to be a good store to me, not so much nowadays..... And you're right, they won this battle...DAMMIT!!!
All in all, we will all have to wait next time's mistake, but this mistake is fact enough for the majority of us that BestBuy IS/WAS at fault.
:)
@ camell - i gave up on BestBuy, their electronics suck, unless i need a crappy headphone or something then I'll go there, other than that, I import all my electronics (currently trying to import a D-Dock station from Panasonic)

I wouldn't accept the $9.99 tv because its under Outlet Store....my TV could be refurbished?! O_O...........
If it weren't under Outlet Store category, i would, and then sell it on ebay for Vitz Turbo muawahahahah

Factory Refurb is better than a Display item, or a Open box in my opinion...
Even if you get the deal at $10, and it breaks 10 months later, its covered under warranty. Rather than the people that went to Circuit City when they went belly up and bought a Display Plasma screen TV for $500, no warranty, and they broke 2 months later..
Check your options, if you got a TV for $10, and you just sell it on Craigslist broken, im sure you can get at least that money back.
