here is the most recent data on the cars most traded for in the cash for clunkers program. i am surprised the yaris is not in the top 10 (maybe it is due to an already short supply. while the program may have given a little boost to the domestics, it sure seems Toyota was helped even more with 3 of the top 5.

1. Corolla 34 (days on lot avg)
2.Ford Focus 25
3. Civic 44
4. Prius 13
5. Camry 37
6. Elantra 35
7. Escape 21
8. Caliber 17
9. Fit 50
10. Cobalt 70

this was containe in a WSJ article today, and i remember about a week ago another article mentioning the yaris has been in shorter supply since gas prices have edged up toward $3. i have to think a short supply would be the only thing keeping it off the top 10 list.

The versa I think would be a nice deal for the CARS program.... base is 9999 drops the price down to as low as $5,499. Add in a few basic options and you have a decent car (on par with fit & yaris) for under normal USED car prices.

I would hate to be someone trying to sell a used car right now... i doubt anybody would want to buy anything used unless it was under $2,000.... I mean... whats the point.
