I recently bought a 2009 Yaris Sedan, and I am looking into swapping out the head unit; however, I have came to a bit of a problem. My Yaris was purchased with the power package, so the factory head unit is integrated so the bezel trim is one solid piece with no cut out, I was wondering if anyone has came across an install kit that includes trim that will cover the vents, or am i just going to have to fork out some bucks and order the center bezel trim from somewhere.

This is a link to a pic of my dash config

The aftermarket has kits to solve your issue.

For me, I'm going down to a single din and custom fabbing a mount for the controller for an Audison Bit One to go under the source unit. So, an aftermarket kit is fairly useless for me anyway.

my car is currently in an audio shop installing an alpine head unit, there are aftermarket panels available so that we can swap the stock head unit to a single din or 2 din unit.

if your steering has audio controls, there are also ways to retain its functionality and have it work with your aftermarket head unit.

once i collect the car tonight i'll snap some pics and info to share tomorrow.

You can always swap it out for one of these

Akk...I dunno about that last suggestion. What do we have in the way of local and factory support and reliability on those units?

Instead of that previous suggestion, get a local shop to fit a double din name brand navi in. You'll have bought into the local support and a factory warranty from a brand you know and trust.

You can file that crap with the Eonon on EBay. If I were to upgrade it would be with a quality HU.

Yeah, I'm not about to order a random unit from china with no technical support whatsoever, I was just wondering if there was a mount that included trim to cover the vents. So far from what ive understood is i need to go to the yota dealer and order the trim piece. I also found it on parts.com (http://www.parts.com/oemcatalog/index.cfm?action=getJointLocator&siteid=2&chapter=&sectionids=0,2610&groupid=4805&subgroupid=2615&makeid=34&model=Yaris&year=2009&catalogid=2&displayCatalogid=0). For anyone who is running into the same prob I am the center bezel part no. is 5540-552640 ... and I saw another post referring to 55405-52780 which is for the 09 sedan s however I havent found any further info, downloading the toyota epc right now to see. Does anyone have any input on subs?.. I'm lazy and wondering how big i can go without rattles and adding insulation and taping crap down.

Maybe a bazooka tube of some sort...

I dunno what you're talking about though, the sounddeadening part of the sound system is the most rewarding because you get to know your vehicle very well. My next step in December when I get home is to do my back doors, rear deck, and to drop the headliner. Then all that's left is the trunk.

...that is before I put the three ways in...then it's surgury on the door panels! :D
