I would use the search, but I'm not sure if it's broken or if it just doesn't like Firefox on Ubuntu or what, but anyway I am not too impressed with the brights on the Yaris and I've heard people talking about HID kits. After reading about them for a while I figure it sounds like a easy way to get brighter lights (plus I like the blue look). I found this one (Link (http://www.carhidkits.com/xenon-hid-kit-99/10000k-hid-kit-192%3A4cb235d271b4d9084f7d959ad8091051.html)) and had a few questions.

1. From my understanding I will still have bright/dim controls. Since that website makes you specify brights or dims, if I choose bright will I still be using the factory dims or does the kit have dims in it also?

2. Will this void any Toyota warranties?

3. It seems that this will work with the factory headlights, is my assumption correct?

4. Am I going in the completely wrong direction/is there an easier way to get the nice blue look and get brighter brights at the same time?

Thank you again for your patience in dealing with a huge n00b.

Thanks for the reply, I was expecting a bit more than 1, but hey I'm glad to have something at least haha. If he sells one that's good and bright I'll probably wait for that one since I know it will be Yaris-friendly. Maybe he'll stop in here and give some details :)

sylvania silverstar headlight bulbs are a great alternative if you dont want to spend as much but still want a blue/whiter light and have it be brighter. theyre not nearly as bright as HIDs, but a much easier install and you dont have to worry about ballasts.

besides, in my personal opinion, HIDs shouldnt be installed on a car that doesnt have projector headlights. it just doesnt look clean and looks cheap

the silverstars run like 50 for a pair at any pep boys/ autozone/ kragen and they are 4300k so youll get hyperwhite bordlerline blue-ish

all you gotta do is ask someone working there what the headlight code is and find the right bulbs. im sure someone on this forum knows it off the top of their head too

I was actually looking at those bulbs yesterday at Advance. I think I will try that first. Thanks for the suggestion!

no problem. just make absolutely sure that you dont touch the bulb itself when installing them. the grease on your finger, no matter how minute will compromise the integrity and it will blow out quicker

Check this site out for a $10 off $25 coupon, I was going to do this with some Silverstars!
