MMT Semi-Automatic Gearbox problem on 2006 Yaris 1.0 Sol

Hi everybody.
Just signed up to YarisWorld today. I have a 2006 Yaris 1.0 Sol with the Semi-Automatic (MMT) Gearbox and would like some information/help/advice
from anyone experiencing the same problem.

Last summer, the auto started going into Neutral (N) while stopped at lights
or road junctions/tolls etc and would stick there. The only way to get back into 1st gear is to switch off the ignition, wait a minute or so, then switch on again.
The car would then drive OK until next stop at lights/junction/tolls.

I have taken the car to Toyota dealers in Greece and Italy and both times
a mechanic connected some kind of computer/PDA to a socket under the
dash and said he was going to "Reset" the onboard computer!

What's the deal here? Can this problem be fixed once-and-for-all?

i dont know perhaps you must re configure your car.

If you do a search I think there was another member having a similar issue. It turned out the computer had failed and a swap with a used one solved the issue.

Perhaps when they "reset" the computer they don't actually, because of some Toyota liability thing, but they tell you that to make you feel better, and so they can take your money.
