New(used) tires making a helluva racket

Bought a set of rims & tires(205/40-17) still have 80% tread left. Everything fits fine,got the tires on in the correct direction,but boy they are loud! I thought they were also loud outside the car(pedestrians) but got the wifey to do some drive pasts at different speeds and you can't hear them as you drive by. Anyone had this prob? The tires are Wanli's with a pretty aggresive tread pattern.
They ride nice and corner nice just loud....help:iono:

BTW this is my first post and I have an 09 4dr hatch

hehe, summer tires are noisier than all seasons. nothing to worry about.

I bought a set of rims that came with a set of pretty aggressive unidirectional tires. On my first drive with them I pulled off the road to see if I had a flat. They are way louder than the OEM Goodyears that my Yaris came with, but the handling difference makes the road roar worth it. One of these days I am definitely going to add some dynamat though.

Sound deadening did little or nothing to reduce tire noise for me. It did quiet everything else down but the tire sound just travels through the suspension and I don't think there is much one can do to get rid of it.

wanli tires are a generally lower quality tire but i dont know why that would contribute to road noise.

some tires are just louder. ive had tires that scream and squeal around turns and tires that just let go without any noise at all.

in a straight line ive seen and heard loud tires but they were generally beefier sports tires. are these ones sticky?

Just put them on lastnite so I just kinda made it to work this morn....gotta go play! Gonna try a few diff tire pressures to see if that hepls at all...they say they are 44psi max but have no minimum,there @ 35 now I'll try 32 tonite.
