What does ur name means or stands for and why you picked it

Jumpmanyaris; I came up with that name because I am a really huge fan of Jordan and collect his Retro Shoes and well Yaris because i got the car with a Jordan decal on the back window.

Pretty simple just looks odd spelled out

Cool thread , lets get this going

talnlnky
08-21-2009, 09:20 PM
talnlnky = Tall and Lanky

nickname I was given in highschool by a teacher/mentor of mine.... when I first got internet I came up with the screenname, and have had it for 11 years now. At the time I was around 6'1" 140lbs, now i'm 6'4" 185.... and still fairly lanky looking.

SilverBack

It started with "Joey", an old nickname from way back in jr. high because I got tired of people butchering my legal name. I've always been a risk-taker, even when it comes to incredibly stupid (but often times fun) ideas. Hence the "Krayzee" coined by old buddies. And some female friend's always preferred to call me "Jojo" instead of Joey. The spaces and period were put in to help me find my last posts when I come back, and it looks bitchin!

Plus I was too wasted at sign-up time to come-up with a better user name...

Tomato: When I first saw my red Yaris, I thought she looked just like a Roma tomato. So I created the user name 'tomato'

Now some of my friends have started calling me Tomato, and even send me mail addressed to "tomato" and the funny thing is, it gets delivered!

Cheers

Another clever one:

eTiMaGo

The initial of my full name (TMG) interspaced with the vowels of my first and last name backwards (eiao)

The vowel thing was actually accidental, I originally put some at random between my initials then later realized the pattern

"Kaotic" because I wanted to make a car team waaaay back before I could drive under that name, "Lazagna" because it is one of my nicknames (a fading one, but still one). I spell it with a "z" because my name is Lazandro.

Greenthunder
08-22-2009, 04:59 AM
I came up with Greenthunder because my first car was green and it had a loud exhaust on it. I also found some Old English style lettering that I put across the top of the windshield and spelled out Green Thunder  Thankfully only 2 pictures exist of my car with that mod

I am constantly getting compliments on my name though, my first name is Jinni so the combination of my first and last name always has people stopping and saying "You have the coolest name..." one of the executives of my company was walking by my cube and stopped dead in his tracks just to say "I hope you don't find me weird for saying this, but I love your name"

They said they don't want to think of that guy when people are actually talking about me. So they asked me what they should call me. I said "Peter." I don't know why I chose it; it just came to me.

During that time is when I started to sign up for AIM, yahoo messanger, mIRC, hotmail, etc.. and I needed a login name. Couldn't think of anything, so "Peter" came to mind. Thought of Peter, Peter Parker, Peter pan,.........Peter Poop. Why? I have no idea; but I've had this name for quite awhile.

Heh. This will take a while but I think its cool to explain this, even if for myself for the future!

There was a comic book writer who's email was organizm@something, and I loved it because it seemed.. techy get organic and geeky. But I didn't want to have the exact same thing so I made it WiredOrganizm, to show my computer love, that sometimes I get hyper/wired, there was a book about an actor I liked called Wired, also I liked the "wi" as my last name starts with that..

However, friends/online people would joke that when they glanced at my email/screenname/handle they thought it looked like Wired-another word that starts with Orga and ends with sm

I think the last straw was when I told or wrote my email for my dad he gave a "what!?" shocked reply.

It pisses me off that people can't read and tainted my screenname!

Anyway, I changed it to wire(d)net because of my name annette, and the internet. That was taken a lot so I added the second i because I thought it still looks good (i dont like numbers in screen names)

NOW I get annoyed because people think its a reference to the wii. When I had this screen name the wii never existed! And I could care less about it now.

I dont remember what server i was on for EQ2, or any others cept for FFXI (Fenrir) cause I am still playing it, lol! I was in a very small guild for EQ2, and we all got accepted to beta test Vanguard, so we all jumped ship to that and the VOD (Valley of Death), Drama ended that kinda quick. FFXI was the withdrawl remedy, and a good excuse to talk to my brother everyday!

Well my name is the same name I've used for several places online. When I first got online, I created computer related names like the other people in the chat rooms I hung out in. When I needed to make a new name, I thought for a long time before settling on this one. When I created it, they're wasn't even any instances of it found in google, now there's a lot. Mine is the 4th one down, however... (ctrlaltdefeat.stumbleupon.com) In case you don't recognize it, my name is a twist on Control Alt Delete, the key combo which used to be used to restart a PC and now brings up the task manager.

Mine came from a joke. When my roommate and I bought a '79 Civic 1200, I trailered it from college in NW Wisconsin to SE Wisconsin when I moved. We jokingly put a "39" in electrical tape on the door along with "ALL MOTOR" across the back. I started to use 39 as my race number at autocross events, too. Then I just decided to spell it out for a username. I used to always use "Sushiboy" for my screenames, but then got violently ill (e.g. five days in the hospital), and attributed it to bad sushi. (I gave it up for a year). I do, however, eat copious amounts of the stuff again, though.

I used to frequently play an alto saxaphone, and legato is a way of tounging to make a smooth sound without fully stopping the air flow through the mouthpiece.
Since then I just though that the word in general just sounded cool, haha.

Hrmm well... Back in the day when internet gaming started up I had to think of a really cool name to go around killing people with in Counter-Strike. So I opened the dictionary to a random page and picked Advocate!

After 9 years of aliasing on the internet I'm used to being called Advocate or Sean. Most people actually prefer to call me just "Advo" for short. It's a unique name I have come to like a lot lately.

lowsushi - I used to be a minitrucker back in the day. I had a 1988 mitSUbiSHI Mighty Max that was on air. Hence I had a Low Sushi. I dug the name and have always used it for avatars/screen names. But my true nikname is AKIRA. Based off the anime hit movie, and it was my DJ name back when I used to spin at raves in the late 90's

I am normally pretty creative, but not when picking names for websites. I draw a complete blank. Of course mine is my first name and middle initial. Wow, I know. :)

I think a more interesting explanation is where my location, South Jesus, Kentucky came from. Obviously there is no such place, but I do live in Ky. While I was in a Novell networking 2-week training course in Denver many years ago, I had a guy from Miami who sat next to me in the classes. In the very first class, our instructor had us all take a few minutes to find out a little about the person next to us, then introduce each other to the rest of the class (I always hated stupid things like that).

Anyway, I had told the guy very plainly where I was from, and he stood up and told my name, and that I was from South Jesus, Kentucky. Everyone in the room, including me, burst out laughing our asses off, because it was so off the wall (I suppose the WAY he said it made it even funnier). Of course he said it because of religion and all in the hills of Kentucky where I live, but it was hilarious. Ever since then, when I post where I am from, I have put that I'm from South Jesus. A little homage to a dude who made me laugh at a time when I was in a 2-week hell.

I will leave it at that unless someone chimes in and wants to know the history. The only thing that I will say as an interesting aside is that the State of Maine BMV would not allow that on my plates even though I had it in Virginia and Texas. They informed me that it could be misconstrued as meaning "F*cking Groove which is obscene. I even brought in my old plates to show them that if other states have allowed they needed to. My only answer was "no". This came from the state office which I found out later is run by a woman in her late 60's and is waaaaay too uptight.

lets see, my orginal name was "ilikericedotcom" but i had issues trying to sign up, so admin told me to make another account and try again, so i just took out the "dotcom" and stuck with "ilikerice"...

the orgin comes from my brother back when AOL chat was big. we used to make so many screen names. his favorite saying was "DEEZNUTS" then he came up with "Deeznutzdotcom". i just adopted the "dotcom" to my conversation starter "i like rice" in middle school... and it has stuck with me since.

I've been "Flipper" on 4x4 sites since the 90's due to flipping the crap out of a suzuki samurai (end over end four times). I changed e-mail providers and then forgot my password but could access the old e-mail to get the password ...so I re-registered and added the 1938 since that was the year model of a firetruck that I had just bought (made sense at the time).

I've used Flipper_1938 on several differnt forums since then.

Shinare
05-20-2011, 02:56 PM
I used to be a "Creator/Implamenter" on an old Dragonlance based MUD called Ansalon in the mid 90's. "Shinare" was the name of the god (imm) I played while building areas of the MUD as well as interactions with the users of the MUD (running quests, helping newbies, granting temporary powers, etc.). I was on the MUD probably 6 hours a day at least and it became such a part of my life that I've been using the name "Shinare" ever since.

Great thread idea! Way to keep it going all these years Jumpman!

I think the hatchback looks like an escape pod. The word POD makes me think of iPod, my iPod is black and my Yaris is about the same size as an iPod. Yaris starts with a Y, and 09, obviously, the year of my Yaris. THUS: yPod09

My little tagline is "all black everything" because the car is "murdered out" as the kids say these days AND it is the title of a Lupe Fiasco song, who is one of my favorite musical artists.
