Does anyone know if the Lotus C64 transmission will fit in the Yaris? Would it be worth the effort? Am I going to get flamed for asking a question that's already been asked and answered before?

thats a good question
especially with the 2zz swap, your car would really fly with that gearing.
weight is pretty close anyways

I think it has been done, but don't quote me. There may be differences between the FWD (Celica) and RWD (Lotus) versions?

c60 tranny in celica/matrix/corolla w/ 2zzge
maybe the c64 is smaller?
bell housing in the c60 is bigger than the 1nzfe tranny

Would it be worth it to make an adaptor plate?

its more a matter of notching the frame rail to fit the longer transmission in the yaris

I know for a fact that the C60 fits in a Lotus Elise, people have swapped them for the taller 6th gear to improve fuel economy when cruising on the highway. I'm almost 100% positive those two transmissions are identical besides 6th gear.

why not just buy the gears you want and keep your trans?
TRD offers a variety of gears and you can also have gears made.

i thought itd be cool to use 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6th from a c60 and stuff them into the yaris...

how much does that cost? and it sucks rebuilding a transmission.
they can probably do the tranny swap for under a grand. i doubt you can do that with TRD gears and a rebuild, that would be more like 3 grand.

tranny would be cheap-ish...maybe 500 depending on the wrecker
2zz trannies arent cheap and i don't know how much a trd gear set would run...
