first off much props to the site its def ill. ive had my 07 sedan s for 2 goin on 3 yrs and its time i showed it some love, im ready to bless it with some 18's. but is it a good idea? would 17's be better? im currently getting 36 mpg's and i dont want to sacrifice that. can i please get some advice on how to not loose much mpg's and get the rim size i want? thx in advance.

It all depends on the wheel weight. I'm sure that 18's that weigh like nothing will get better gas mileage than 15's that weigh a ton. I got 17's on mine, and they're as light, if not lighter than the 15" steelies. Also consider tire weight too. I neglected this when I bought new tires, and the Ziex 912's I bought are MUCH heavier than the Parada Spec-2s that I had before. I lost some mpg there. Aside from that, switching to 17's from me didn't change my mpg.

I have yet to hear of a story of a yaris getting better mpg by going with a larger wheel size.... I've heard plenty of people say that they lost 2-3 mpg by going with 17's tho.

thx for the responses, i dont want to improve mpg's just not loose what im getting now. Kaotic thx for heads up tho it makes sense. i saw in another forum that the 15 inch stock rim and tire weight is about 33 lbs, so if im lucky enough to find 18's in that weight that are priced well then i guess i shld be ok.

33 lbs is about right for stock 15 steelies + tires.

You'll be lucky to find an 18 inch wheel and tire combo under 40 lbs.
