Hi guys, I had two unique scratches done by my bicycle at the rear trunk. They were scratched so deep I could actually see the grey steel. Anyway, I now have painted with touch up paint pen and spray but still they look awful. Any suggestions of how to hide the two scratches? I asked the body shop it will cost $500 to spray the trunk. Thats too much for me.
Cheers

Go on a road trip and start slapping on bumper stickers

I too suggest getting a few bumper stickers. I have two on my Yaris.

ask a detail shop to buff it for you....

I lived with a similar spot I'd made the same way for ~10 years before trading the vehicle.

If its down to the primer, it ain't buffing out. The body shop wants $500 because they'll spray the whole trunk. Try finding a mobile guy who comes to you and he'll only spray the spots where you'll need it. He'll try to blend in the color. It might not exactly be perfect, but it'll should do the job. Don't know the cost, but it'll sure be cheaper than $500.

A couple large vinyl stripes would do it, if that suited your taste, a roll of vinyl can be had for under $50, if you have the skill and know where to look.. but its only a suggestion

Post up a picture, if done right you can actually make a touch up pen job look good! If you build up the clear coat enought you can actually wet sand it in to look good. Along with some polishing it can be done.

Maaco is not the best but, they are probably better than a lot of shops out there and are realtively cheap.
For your particular problem they may be a good solution as that is an easy fix for any body shop.

They are only fair, but they beat the hell out of touch up paint. They sometimes even have specials on painting like one body panel. What they are, if you find the right one, is way cheaper than most body shops.
