I got some decent attention with my first post so I will go more in depth with my real purchase.

My dad said I could get a new car with the cash for clunkers program and I just knew that I wanted a Toyota. My dad had 2 tercels and both were amazing cars so I wanted a Toyota economy car

I, at first, wanted the Corolla but it was more "boring" in my opinion and the fact that you couldn't customize it with TRD stuff was too rock bottom for me

The clunker that I traded in was a 1986 Mercedes benz 300E. I know it sounds pretty cool until you get a hold of the fact that it got 10 MPG on premium fuel, needed a quart of oil every 100 miles, and the electrical system was shot. And the odo broke. Quite the clunker.

Here's the video on my youtube channel on it:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BfeiEwetEkU&feature=channel_page

The MSRP price on the Yaris was $16,375. Which got you every pwr thing you can get on a 5 door hatchback (no S model) and a set of toyota dealer floor mats ($100). With tax, it came to be $17,987. With the Mercedes, it came to about $13,400 and I got extended warranty (7/100000 miles) and the price came to $15,000.

I will be posting videos on my youtube channel on the yaris and pics on this forum site.

I should be putting 18" TRD alloys and some body kits on it soon enough

later!!!:headbang:

15k... that's more than I paid for mine just outright buying it.. But I sacrifice with no power anything, and no floormats, etc...
Glad you got a car you enjoy!

I bought mine for $12,051 taxes and all dealer nonsense included, I bought mine stripped, no trade, put on a TRD suspension and a pioneer deck with 4nice speakers and custom rims and tires: total about $13,350. I think you may have given away a Mercedes....

He paid 13400 PLUS he bought the extended warranty that brought it up to 15k. Also consider there was less dealer incentive to lower the price because they would have likely sold it to someone else through the clunkers program. I think he did ok.

Read a couple of comments to your clunker video. Why is it that people who talk shit on you tube comments always make themselves look dumber. That one dude said "Wow that's a straight V6. Dumb ass." LOL. I'm guessing it was designed by M.C. Escher or something.

$17,887 with tax for a yaris then add $1500 on top for a warranty: that's $19,387 for a Yaris as I said outrageous. I don't speak before I think. You have to shuffle the numbers around for yourself to get a true total. Where did you learn how to figure a deal anyhow, sesame street? $15,000 is about what it should have cost with no trade in which would make it hit in the neighborhood of $10,500 or $11,000 with a trade. Or to add it up linearly $15,000 + $4500= $1,9500. Hey! who got the $113?

congrats, but i must say that i got mine for 13,700 with power package, keyless entry, and yaris floor mats. after i added up the trade in (02 ford zx2), cash down, and the recent graduate deal my car was half payed off already.

i hope you enjoy the yaris though, after driving mine for a year i would have definitely payed closer to 20 for it. i LOVE this little car and hope to keep it for a good 500k miles or so.

those with 08 or older models have to remember that the base price went up like $1000 from the 08 to 09 models.... The "transport" fee went up too I think.

i watched the Mercedes video and i do want to say it was a pretty nice looking car (visually). it sounds like it had its fair share of problems, but to each their own. i just wanted to add that this is one of my fav comments...

LOL a Mercedes for a YARIS???? You are not going to impress anyone with a Yaris. A Yaris is a tiny, unconfortable, loud, POS for a car. Congrats you now have a car payments for a Yaris. Dumbass.

not only has my Yaris been the most comfortable car i have owned, it is decently quiet with the windows up and some wind noise with it down, to call a Toyota a POS is just silly, and all girlfriends/potential girlfriends i have had while owning the car have been quite impressed with the Yaris. i honestly love when people see a little car and just start assuming everything they can before they have even been within 10 feet of it. it really makes them look very stupid... stupid enough that it doesn't even need a comeback, they do all the work themselves.

That's for the no deductable Platinum warr.
Glad I got it as it seems these cars are pretty complex....

I got through the video all the way to the power headrests. They put power headrests in rich people's cars? Now that's funny!

I hope you enjoy your new car.

It WAS a good video. My friend's boss had the same 300E. It was QUICK!
Darn shame to see it get clunkered. A MB fan out there could surely have fixed her up....

i guess when you are used to taking care of a mercedes you would be of a mindset that an extended warrantly is necessary.

on a yaris or any other toyota, a complete drain of your pocketbook and nothing more.
