Does adding TRD stuff from Toyota kill MPG?

I just bought a new yaris and I really want to customize it with Toyota's 18" TRD chrome wheels and the TRD shocks and performence suspension with a whole lotta body kits

My main concern: Is this going to negatively affect fuel economy? And if it does, how much am I going to sacrifice in MPG numbers? I get about 42-43 MPG in mixed driving right now with a 5 door hatchback with the automatic

Shocks and supension no, big heavy wheels yes. That's really good mpg.

actually, depending how quickly you corner...its possible to increase your handling with better suspension. Less slowing down results in less needed acceleration to reach a desirable speed.

Other than that, bigger and wider rims/tires will kill your mpg...best I have measured with my car is about 38mpg, thats with 7 inch wide rims, with a 205 wide tire.

If you want to increase your mpg's, a good item to get is a NST 10% underdrive pulley, people have reported increases of 2-3 mpg after install...it all depends on your driving habits.

bigger rims will hurt the mpg if you drive a lot of stop and go....highway only, i dont think you'd notice a difference....

shocks/springs wont hurt mpg's unless you drive like a nut after you put them in

body kits will likely kill the low coefficient of friction that the yaris has....but likely moreso if you drive lots of highway

I hav'nt noticed any mpg change with my TRD axle-back or the drop-in for that matter, the sway bar now that's a different story/section in and of itself.

I keep getting tempted by the Underdrive pulley... I would love to have a few more mpg's... maybe boost me over 50... but at the same time, I believe that pulley would reduce the amount of current my alt would produce at idle... and i'm not a huge fan of that. I do run one 160watt amp right now.. and in the future will have two amps for a total of 450watts, or approx 50-60amps of draw depending on music type and volume level.

Just like what they say... bigger wheel = somewhat bad mpg. Although I gotta say it's hard to notice. And obviously the stiffer suspension the less comfortable ride hahaha
