A fellow that I know from my mountain biking group, Neil, and I hiked to the peak of Mount Rose today. It is a 10,776 foot peak in the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest, which overlooks the city of Reno, Nevada. I see this mountain every morning from my front windows, and my daily commute takes me near it.

The trail is a 10 mile round trip with an elevation gain of about 2,000 feet. Here are some photos of our day (no account required):
