I for one have never been a fan of people just banning persons for no outstanding reason at all.
If they obviously did something out of what is expected of them, we knew who they were and how they were online...thats part of an online community, you always have the jerks, assholes, nice guys, etc. As you would in any mass group of people.
I really think alot of people have done the right think in trying to stand up for what is right personally. I think the actions of the "admin" of the site have been a bit childish in nature when it comes to his direction he wants to take. Even if he doesnt see that he is losing some of the best moderators/members he has available.
Of course this comes to arise new persons who can take responsibility.
I for one am saddened by this all, of course I havnt hit Emokid status like Tamago did. lol.

Moderators pissed at Bueller for lack of attention to the site.
Bueller pissed at moderators for actively promoting the MicroImage forum.
Bueller has issues with Garm.
Bueller demoted some moderators, and some demoted themselves because of all the BS.
All in the name of making YarisWorld a better place...

I honestly think that Bueller personally needs to realize what he is doing. I mean really, he gets upset because he feels like his own moderator team "betrayed him?"
When it was that very moderator team, including countless members who revived this whole FORUM, after the hack...He simply was notified the site went down, and payed to have it put back up. The PEOPLE put it back together for him... Hence Yarisworld got to where it is now.
It pisses a lot of people, old members, and new to see someone who has never really played a leading example in the forum, make such choices as he did (banning/demotions/promotions) in such a irrational and quick method as has been done. Its almost something out of a communist state of mind that "If it cant be the way I want it, the hell with everyone else who opposes me."
I was pretty pissed to see Yarisworld be hacked and brought down to pretty much nothing... Im furious that one lone person simply threw a hissy fit and pretty much altered the whole forum leadership structure in what seems like an overnight job to suit his needs.
I dont see one positive thing coming from banning ChinoCharles and running off Thomas and Echo. Other than helpful and knowledgeable members being gone.

Your points aren't without merit, but this is Bueller's site. He pays for it and could just as easily shut it down if he wanted to. I hope it won't come to that, but if it does, life goes on.
I liked all the moderators too and Thomas was pretty much the de facto leader IMO. It looks like he's going to stick around even without mod status, so that's good. I hope echo and Charles reconsider as well.
The hack really did screw things up, tons of good information was lost. And even with some of it being brought back it's just not the same.

I dont know what power trip Charles went on, but I too am pissed about certain things. I know Chino changed when he became a mod, at first he was a complete <whatever>, but as time progressed people got mature and better.
I'm pissed because all those threads and DIYs are gone. I mean c'mon, really Bueller??! Your decisions have led to some of the effects. There hasn't been a SINGLE forum that I've gone to where i check it throughout any location. I've checked this place at work numerous times, in class, at a bar, and a restaurant...I can't stay away from all the great info from people on here...
BUT NOW...I'm straying less and less away from this place because of your actions. Now i do understand "change needs to come in", but the information that is all GONE? No, i dont understand that. I will give "3 more weeks" for this place to bring in positive changes and bring back those useful DIYs and threads....Otherwise.....
I'm forcefully bring myself to MicroImage forums, even though I haven't bought ONE thing from that site. I've bought used parts off of cali yaris and Laszlo....
OR....be done w/ forums and go off into revising all the Japanese I've forgotten and somehow find my way to better communities w/ mature admins and decision being sought out.

Mike, i know its owned by the lovable cali yaris aka Garm.
I don't have anything against MicroImage nor it's owner.
Garm's quality of customer service, description of products, and expectation of used products is by far the BEST I've encountered in my life.
MicroImage, it's just NOT my store to shop in. I'm not going to go into the details of my preferences in life about products i choose to own or what my experience has been with some and where it'd lead me to....
And the forum, my experience, when a forum expands or caters to a variety of same categories, it becomes hell, no matter how heavily you mod throughout the day/night. It will happen as time goes on, when more come and join in. But just not yet.

Mod's should be those who can actively change a website, edit bad posts, fix problems, and take out spammers.
Mod's should not be "knowledgeable" people in my opinion. What would be the point to give the ones that know most, a bigger ego?
Never seen a website run right, by only promoting those who know everything. Those people can not always do the best job. (this is not a graphics design website or a game website so can't compare it to that_

Lafiro, you just put your finger on it.
Not that it isn't an honor, but it's also a job.
We can't exactly "actively change the site" though, and I believe that limitation was the source of the frustration for guys like Thomas for instance, who did love the site and put a lot of effort into it but felt their hands were tied. :iono:

1st, i did say i wouldn't take anything away from the new/current mods so, there is no need to infer that i feel they are not qualified to do the job...
2nd, because it is a job, i feel like those that have been around a bit longer deserve the opportunity first, if interested...obviously, someone who has been here longer has more experience related to pre-hack info and about the forums overall...experience goes a long way...
3rd, regardless of wether or not u agree with the idea of mods being yaris knowledgable, (which i still feel is important simply because it lends itself to being able to answer questions more effectively) this has nothing to do with egos because anyone can catch an ego...knowledgable or not...
at the end of the day, i show full support to the current mods but, still feel as i do about the above...
