Is there any way to enable the common chirping sound w/ the factory security system?
Not even sure my '09 has the security system. It has the remote lock / unlock and a red blinking LED on the dash (in the driver side end of the defogger vent).

If you're referring to the chirping sound of the horn when you press the lock button on the key, that would be awesome to have! That way I know my car is actually locked, as opposed to just the lights blinking (which it does for the unlock too)...

the security led blinking by the windshield of 09' yarii is the immobilizer. (chip in the key)
the yaris does not have any other security features/alarm.

Only thing i can think of is to hook it up to the output for the lights. It would have to be the output comeing out of the security module and not the reg light output. Otherwise the horn would be on when the lights are. Might have to put a diode inline aswell to stop and feed back into the horn output..

If you had the factory security (TVIP RS3200) you would have a status indicator in one of the four knockouts in the center console.
Without it there's not an option for the horn honk with lock. Add a remote starter or alarm and you'll gain that feature.

I don't want to have to carry another remote with me. I noticed that my key has a blank spot for a fourth button opposite of the red / hold button. If I get the RS3200, will I get a new key that has a button in that blank spot like this one:

I think that the RS3200 V5 still only has 3 buttons on the remote. That jacket uses the extra spot for a trunk pop button.

Ah ok. I was assuming for some reason that the RS3200 came with a remote start feature (and the extra button for it).
I wish we could get remote start w/o having to carry a separate remote for it.

Bulldog makes one that uses the OEM remote. That's what I used on my Xterra, as it was the first vehicle I purchased that actually had OEM remote keyless entry. With the Bulldog remote starter I press the OEM lock button twice within 3 seconds to start the X.

The chirping isn't as bad as the horn, but even that's unnecessary. I mean, you can hear the doors all lock, can't you?
There have been times/places where no, I can't hear the doors lock due to noise around me. And I'm not usually looking at the car either, as I'm usually in a hurry to make sure I can catch my train to get to work. So, yes, there are times when a chirp would be nice to have when locking the doors via the keyfab.
