For my back lights:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o216/dg4rez/4-19-09/IMG_1644.jpg
Gave me a warning (not even a fix it ticket), and told me why they're illegal.
(must have red showing, and must be visable from 300 ft)
Me being the a-hole I am to cops, told him its more red when the lights are on buddy. And You could see them from 300 ft, if its during times that the car lights are required by law to be on.
He told me that its a $168 dollar ticket for them. I told him does he take cash? He got kinda mad at that, but told me next time I get pulled over for it, im getting the ticket... I just responded with would they take cash then?
Hes raised his voice and said, and after you have a ticket for it, next time you will get impounded. I laugh, and say, I bet they will take cash
He just rolls his eyes, and says have a good day.

LOL , Are you doing to fix it ? I wouldnt, When I used to get pulled over in puerto rico I normaly knew why (Tints) they give u the option of removing them right there on the spot or take the ticket, but not always, sometimes they would make u take it off on the spot and give u the ticket as well so I would just tell em give me the damn ticket but never removed them on the spot for them, hell no, or just used "My mother is a US MARSHALL and she uses tha car as well for her protection, and some times I got away with it I was telling them the truth anyways but some didnt care. Bahh

you're lucky he didnt give you a ticket.proper response would have been sorry officer wasnt aware of being out of order and thank you officer
:laughabove:
I used to be nice to cops, and noticed I ended up with a ticket anyway.
I have noticed, from the time I have started being rude, I have gotten out of 80% of tickets. and that 20% would be getting a ticket for being in a handycap spot (didn't know it was, didn't have pole, and paint was VERY faided.) and he already had the ticket writen, when I walked out of the store. ...So if im there, I get out of the ticket.
I know someday it will probably backfire on me... but intill then... flawless victory.

lol no way, its not tinted on, its not smoked... its painted, with the same color as my car. cost me enough to do it. And im not paying 120 bucks for new lights cause some pig wanted to pull me over to see if I was doing drugs in the car or something, and want to use my lights as an excuse.
Hand me a ticket, impound it for a day, its fine... they're staying on.

I like you. A true rebel. We be buds. I've been a stubborn son of a bitch for my driver/passenger sides window tint.... 3 times already
I like your attitude towards cops, I should have used that when I was attending SF State University.

Wow I guess Nevada is hurting for money just like California is but usually they nail you for what ever you need to fix with a speeding ticket. And not a fix it ticket by itself. How Cheeeeeeesy
Just go borrow someones tails long enough to have the ticket signed and dismissed

Connections help if you ever need to get it signed off ;)
I know there's more cops out on Freeways in California, but fix it ticket w/ speeding ticket? Dont know what you're talking about minired5stby...?

I said that cause they have never stopped me on no front license plate or tinted windows by itself. The last ticket I had was for speeding and he added the window tint. He would of got me on the license plate too but I didn't have my plates yet.

I say fight it if you have the time. Even if you don't win just be cool with the judge and he will reduce the fine.

Have to agree with dg4rez on not being nice to cops, but to a limit. I've gotten out of tickets by using polite words with cops but in a rude tone. I guess it makes them think I've had a bad day and they just let me go with a warning. Solid eye contact helps too.

no doubt especially if the idea of getting impounded and being without a ride would suck even more.
if i had been the cop your ass would have been walking home i would have impounded you after the first smart ass comment.
i really don't care for cops and their ticket giving ways trust me i have had 4 fuckin tickets since i got my yaris but being a smart ass in Tn will get you in a hell of alot more trouble

Studies have shown that cops are not inherently assholes. It's just that they spend so much of their day dealing with them that the tendency to become one increases with each traffic stop.

The best way to get out of a ticket, is to be fairly courteous, with out kissing ass at all. Admit to nothing oand disagree with the charges but in a manner that indicates you will go to court over it and that you are mature enough to win, courteous but offer them no admission to guilt what so ever. If you don't piss them off they will have less reason to desire to bust you, and if you don't give them any thing that would help them win a court case, and they think they will lose, you are most likely to get off .

It's the basis of the Miranda rights, you dont have to say anything that would potentially incriminate you , the cop is just there to apply the law. all you have to do is say: "Thank you officer see you in court" and take it up with the judge
nice we get a nice "E" in that number:wink:

The two times I got pulled over for the tint I used to have on my front window, the officer was always a douchebag. The first one was rude to me from the get go. The second one started being a smart ass from the get go. I really wanted to say something both times, but I figured they'd only bitch more...there's good cops, and bad cops out there.

I beg to differ. Domination by intimidation is perfectly proper. I would say it infront of any child in my family . It is a tactic used by the police and military. By intimidating a person (making them timid) they achieve dominance (power) over them. It is used to help avoid incidents of physical violence. These are the correct and exact terms used by members of these forces. Any one who reads a sexual connotation in to this needs needs to give some serious thought as to why they do.

Yeah, but its not an appropriate word, maybe in the "invite only" group, but not in this thread. I think you should edit that word out, if you want us all to refrain from using mild profanity words ie: a**, sh*t, etc....
If you tell someone to do something, you should follow up with yours as well, alright PK.

nah but winning isn't the goal i don't think for most people. not for me anyway. i used to be real polite and nice and all yes sir no sir to them and i always got a ticket regardless. so if i'm gonna get a ticket anyway might as well get some enjoyment out of the experience by being an a**hole.
same goes for arrests. few years ago i got arrested for fighting at some bar and the other guy that goes in with me was acting all crazy and spitting at the police, yelling, beating on the glass in the holding cell, and basically being a complete moron while i'm there answering questions politely and cooperating but at the end of the day we both got the same punishment. from then on i've just kinda asked myself whats the point.
EDIT: censoring expletives.

your leaving out the part of, cops are normal people too. And just like at work, when something hard/ difficult comes up, you want to get rid of it, or get it over with as soon as possible.
I have noticed being rude, and a jerk, they dont ask to search my car, they dont take 30min of my day, on a simple traffic stop. They get it done and overwith, as soon as possible. :burnrubber:

Don't forget sexual orientation.
I have some gay friends, and I get offended for them when someone says, "That's gay."
see i say that all the time and i just don't think it's offensive. cause when i say it i don't mean anything towards homosexuals at all. that phrase has taken on a new meaning and i just don't think people of that sexual orientation should be offended. much the same way that gay use to mean happy but it doesn't anymore. technically it does but people don't use it in that way. and so when i use "that's gay" to describe something stupid it has nothing to do with what i think of gays in general. cause i got no problem with homosexuality. i got gay friends. hell, i've got a few family members i suspect are gay.
maybe it is stupid of me to say what you should or shouldn't find offensive but i really would like to stress that i don't think most people mean anything towards gay people when they use the phrase.
