I put together some of the upcoming entries to the North American market, as well as a few vehicles that aren't here that should be (including the Toyota bB). Hey, at least we're getting the iQ, right?

What about the VW Scirocco? :frown:

Still, New Polo! Yay!

I really hope a New Lupo is on the drawing boards—possibly to compete with the iQ and the ForTwo.

EDIT AGAIN: I can't find any specs on the UK VW site on the New Polo's wheelbase, etc. Do you have it on hand?

The Lupo actually isn't being made anymore. It stopped production in 2005. However, I believe its wheelbase was about 91 inches.

Sorry, not Lupo, the New Polo. Got my names mixed up.

Why won't they bring the Colt here with the 4G63 in it? They need to bring back the "hot hatches".

I had to laugh when I saw the Suzuki Swift, because it reminded me of Otterhere ;)
Great info, though, thanks a lot thirty-nine!

I'll trade in my yaris to get a Polo. The Fiesta was based off the Mazda 2 platform. The "2" has been for sale a while in other parts of the world. It even won "World car of the year" award in 2008. You can tell I'm a mazda fanboi, huh? I would like to see the Colt and Swift. I would like to see a Suzuki Capuccino to compete with the next gen- Miata.

Interesting read. I'll be glad to see those Fiat 500s on the road, but the real temptation for me is that iQ. If they Scionize it too much maybe the temptation will be less.

Yeah the Fiat 500 is a nice little car. I'm sure we've all seen the Top Gear bit (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eZmGv-ecm3I) where they raced it through Budapest against BMXers.

I'm looking forward to the Colt, though.

A-classes around SoCal? Maybe test mules. There rumors in 2008 that the A-class might head over here, but I haven't heard anything about it since.

http://www.speedace.info/automotive_directory/car_images/Mitsubishi_i_keicar.jpgWhat strikes me about this is that it looks almost exactly like the 1996 design of Rover's version of the New MINI (Spiritual concept car). The BMW version won out, but if Rover had prevailed, MINIs would look very much like this!!

You guys... you would trade Toyota excellence for Fix It Again Tony?? What are you thinking? I have had enough to do with Fiats to know that they come with factory rust, and build quality of a Yugo; think it out, people!!

Reviews by the journalists on new cars just ain't the same as what one ends up with after 3 years or so. Some guys can go and buy a new car every 2 years or so, but I run my cars to the bitter end; no useable parts left. A yearly dose of salt, lots of freeway work, and the nicest new car will undergo radical changes!
