4-puck unsprung clutch on stock power, never launched hard, driven barely 4000 miles and here's what we have (but i'm so glad it wasn't what i thought, broken output shaft)

you ride the clutch maybe without noticing? idk. which car is that from btw?

never ever ride the clutch. i was taught better than that

it's from the xA.

weird could it be the diameter was out of spec thus giving way to some play between parts?

it could be. but it was built by my specs, and was very tight (no backlash) when i installed it. i'm gonna see what the clutch house says when i show it to them next week. hopefully i get something out of the deal.

i put a penny on the bar stool to reflect the light up for the pic. it looks coppery because of that. but yeah, i was surprised at how soft it was too. hope i get a warranty on it :D

Wouldn't riding the clutch help prevent the spines from stripping?

I kept breaking the driveshafts on my bronco, I got tired of replacing it so I sold the car; but it had a clutch that I think was improperly repaired/replaced-- which is when all this started to go down. to this day i still have no idea wtf was wrong with that car; engine would just not die, but the transmission and back all sucked big time!

Tamago has been in love with the Genesis, its an awesome car...Just not the most desirable auto maker, but you cant fake the end result. Probably THE best car Hyundai has ever make!

well, i spent 12 hours today with two STI's getting them prepped for autocross, coilover install, alignments, corner balancing. didn't get a chance to go car shopping.

I thought you were going to finish that statement with something along the lines of, "and then I couldn't decide which one I wanted to buy."

the plan is an MR2. executing the plan is going to take more time, gotta keep an eye out for a better deal than i've found so far.

so, i took the clutch disk to Clutch House today. the guy danced around the issue of defective product for 5 minutes til i just gave up. no warranty, not even an apology. i made sure to show everyone in the waiting room what they were spending their money on, as i walked out ;)
