Garbled radio display - radio working

Hi, My wife's almost 3 year old Yaris is having an issue with the stock radio display. All the characters are garbled when unit is turned on. Switching off the radio does not work. Switching the car off and on, sometimes work but more often than not, it does not. I saw a thread posted that had similar issues and some of the feedback is to have it replaced. Is that the general consensus?

Looks like it is a known problem. The dealer just took the details because the car is still under warranty. Hope to get a replacement soon. Interestingly enough, the other forum poster also had their radio giving similar issues around the 3 year time frame.... twilight zone moment? ... 8o)

If your dealer is kind enough, they roll back mileage in their computer so that you still have warranty. but they cannot roll back time (you wish!)

so, do bring it back if it's still under warranty! If not.. maybe you can consider buying an old one off somebody on YW :)
