^ the Ken Burns series are great! I saw his series on THE WAR, that was pretty awesome. Also, his New York series, showing NY from the first Dutch settlement until b/f 9/11. I got some other stuff of his lined up in my Netflix queue. Really interesting.
The Office - British version is really a completely different humor style. I like the US version (well, what I've seen) but I couldn't really click with the British version.

you?
speaking of desperate housewives, did you see the newest seasons premiere last sunday? don't wanna spoil anything if you happen to be catching up on dvd.
anyway my favs are:
- Desperate Housewives (despite claims that i only watch it for the eye candy it's actually really really funny)
- Rescue Me (though it has kind of fallen off these past couple seasons imo)
- Lost (anyone else still watching this just because they have already invested so much time in it?)
- pre ABC Scrubs
- Rachel Maddow, some national geographic and that's about it.

You're right about funny, but it's subtle, not slapstick funny, so not for everybody, I guess. Weeds (Showtime / also on DVD) is kind of funny in the same way.
I'm starting Season 4 on DVD this WE. I've seen some random episodes on TV here and there, but I prefer watching it on DVD because no commercials.

yeah subtle humor is the best.
i just finished catching up on seasons 4 and 5 on DVD so i'd be able to start watching them on tv again. it is so much better watching them on dvd but something always gets spoiled when i wait for the dvd.
and someday i am going to buy every season of the sopranos and hole up in my apartment and not come out until i've finished every episode. lol. someday.

hahaha!! A fair warning: you better like the F word
These Sopranos drop the F bomb non-stop.
Oh, speaking of the F bomb... I also enjoyed Deadwood very much :bow: (but not for the faint of the heart, and it DEFINITELY took some getting used to). They made 3 seasons and were cancelled. It's all on DVD now, from the same guy who wrote NYPD blues ( I used to really like that one, too) and based on the true story of Deadwood, in the late 1800's.
