When the Anime world and Car world collide in Japan

Itasha Gathering in Odaiba, Tokyo on the 4th of October 2009. For those who are not aware, an Itasha is a car decked out with anime decals!

It translate to "painful car", which can be viewed as painfully embarrassing for the owner or painful to their wallets. It is a relatively new scene here in Japan and was very interesting to see. There were some nice example of nicely done up cars which also has the performance to match, so you can laugh at them until they whoop your ass on the track. There were close to 800 cars with not enough time to get the details but we did what was possible to show the event as a whole. Just about any type of vehicle participated in the event from VIP, Imports, Classics, K-Cars, Full tuned Sports, Wagons, Family and ECO.
Some may feel that the vehicles have been defaced and some may take a more light-hearted view. One thing that is for certain is that there are alot of creative ways to accent your vehicle with vinyl and many of the designs took alot of time and effort to create.

first off, japanese women look about 5-10years younger than they really are (when they look normal and DON'T try to look young).

The obsession... well in Japan the most desired trait in females for males is youth. The most desired trait in men however (judged by females) would be height. And of course being from a different country doesn't hurt either... unless you are looking for a serious and lasting relationship... Some Japanese women will settle with foreigners... but there is still a big divide culturally about marrying a gaijin (dirty/devil foreigner).

I remember a buddy of mine who once found himself in the "red light" type area in Osaka and said he saw females in windows holding Chip N Dale plush toys and pig tails... Said they were probably around 30, but looked in their teens and acted like they were 10 or younger.

Its not about being underaged, but rather appearing young & energetic, and no wrinkles or any of that stuff that comes with age.

Im digging the whole Itasha thing. There's a guy out here in So Cal that has done it to his Fit, and it looks tight as hell. The wheels are clean too! Can't wait to see this done to a Yaris.

I love anime. You don't have to be a pedophile to enjoy it. Hell, a lot of the time, there's nothing to do with little girls in them. Cowboy Bebop, Dragon Ball Z, Ghost in the Shell, Akira, Wangan Midnight, Initial D... the list goes on... Personally I think I would love some bad ass anime character on my yaris. Male or female, depending on if the attitude is right...Maybe Akuma...
