Hey everyone,

I'm stuck real bad and need some help. I've set up my home sound system but my subwoofer will not work. I think i've tried every possible combination of settings but it wont fire up. It's really starting to bug the living shit outta me.

It's been 3 days and I'm starting to get cranky. If I keep this up i'll be having hallway sex for a month, you know, when you pass your wife in the hallway and she gives you the finger and says f u and you say f u back

Hopefully someone on here can help me with my dilemma.

I have a Kenwood KRF-V6050D amp, the instruction manual is available at http://www.retrevo.com/search/v2/jsp/mytrevo/myTrevo.jsp?page=man I was going to make it an attachment but it wont let me.

The setup I have is a front left, centre, front right and subwoofer. Sound comes out through the front left, centre and front right but nothing through the subwoofer.

The subwoofer I have is a Jenson DX260.

Now before we all blame the subwoofer or say it's broken. I can assure you it's not, I used to get complaints from neighbours across the road saying that there windows kept going doof doof doof.

It's only now that i've had some time off to set it up in my new house but I can't get it to work. I could ramble on further but i'm hoping there will be questions that I can provide answers to to help you help me get this thing to work.

Thanks in advance.

have you tested the woofer anyways?

run a RCA from something else to it and see if it makes noise.

just to be sure.

i'll look over the manual in a second

2Use the MULTI CONTROL keys to select the appropriate
subwoofer setting.
1SUBW ON: Subwoofer setting mode to the receiver is ON.
2SUBW OFF: Subwoofer setting mode to the receiver is OFF.
•The initial setting is “SUBW ON”.
•When “SUBW OFF” is selected, the front speakers are automatically
set to “FRNT LRG” and the procedure skips to step 5.
•When subwoofer output sound is required, select “FRNT NML”.3 Adjust the speaker volume.

Bad news. I used the tv RCA output on the subwoofer and got nothing. No sound, noise or even crackle. I've looked on the back of the subwoofer and I do not see a fuse. It's a Jenson dx260. So what do I do now? Should I open the subwoofer up to see if I can find a fuse or should I take it to a Jenson repair place if there is one?

it might be as simple as one of the wires fell off the woofer terminals.

I'll unplug it from mains and open it up. Hopefully it's something simple like that. It's a dual subwoofer and cost me over $500 when I bought it.

i always make my own theater subs from the cheapo sony home theater subs. I use the amp from the system and run wires out of it to car audio subs and go that route. they rumble the house and it costs next to nothing

The service centre is about 5 miles from my house. I will take it down there and get them to take a look at it rather than pull it apart myself.
