Ok, I'm new here in YW, so let me introduce myself... I'm a 19 year old very hansome guy ... haha, just kidding....

Ok, seriously now... I'm about to get my Yaris, it's going to be my graduation present... cause I just graduated from High School and I'm going to the University next year.

So, the thing is that I'm a tuner, I love racing, I love car mods, etc, etc, etc... you know, I really don't like my car to be stock, SO, while I wait to get my Yaris I already started buying some things for it.

This are my Side Windfans (don't know the real name for them, but anyway...)... Thought it could be a nice mod, but still don't know if they would fit. My best friend gave them to me, because he was planing to use them for his car, but didn't like them after all! haha I'm planing to install a Home Depot lip first, and then the Windfans under it.

The last picture shows how they are supposed to be installed, but as I already said, I still don't know if they are going to fit alright for the Yaris.

PD: I still got to paint them, because my friend had them abandoned in his garage, and he tryed to spray them flat black one night when he was kinda drunk... hahaha... but that's another story...

Also made a deal yesterday with a friend of mine... he sold me a CAI and a muffle... I have a picture of the CAI, it was installed in a Honda CRV... I don't know how am I going to make it fit in the Yaris... But will see! haha

I will post pictures of the CAI and the Muffle this week when I get the parts!

CIA wont work

the yaris is very very picky about that, if the sensor is even a bit off the car wont run

You're finally introducing yourself after some 60 posts?

Just messing with you . Welcome anyway

Those windfans you're talking about are called downplates. Good call wanting to install those. They're a much better mod than a rear spoiler on a FWD car. Seen way too many of those over the years :barf:

Downforce is downforce. Rear downforce is just as important if properly setup.

^I would agree with that if there was a just as strong downforce in the front. Otherwise a rear spoiler only is just setting you up for the dangers of aeroplaning on straightaways and increased understeer around corners, both of which the front wheels don't need on our cars.

Im sure they would fit on the yaris with a lil bit of DIY.

That sounds like trouble.... Thanks for the advise...

But well... anyway, I will give it a try... will try to install it and see if it works... :hopeitworks:

In case it doesn't I will sell the intake and keep the muffler... It was a very good deal, got both for $.60 dollars from a friend of mine!!:laugh:hehe

Dude, CAI and the Yaris? Take it form me, if it wasn't built for it.. IT WILL NOT FIT!

Sure it will. Nothing a few hours of cutting, bending and hammering (and cussing) won't fix :bellyroll:

But seriously, save yourself the time. You're better-off selling it off. Lots of people here have gotten proper parts and better deals from cali_yaris' Micro Image (http://shop.microimageonline.com/main.sc) site

Congrats and welcome to YW! I was anxious to mod mine when I first got it and after a little research I started this thread (http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13102) to figure out my first mods. Lowering springs (or preferably coil-overs if you got the cash), a short shift kit, and an underdrive pulley really make a difference. Also a rear sway bar and some fat light weight wheels will also do wonders for you handling... After a lot of research, I feel those are the best beginner mods you can DIY...

If not, well... then just laugh a little bit of my "japanesse" skills!:laugh: hahahaha

Btw, I can speak english, spanish and german.... but it's a shame I never got to learn japanesse... :frown:

 Hajimemashite..

I'm not japanese or anything, but I know a bit (I think) to have an awkward conversation lol. From what I know, you deciphered my "japanese" that I have learned lol!

That's awesome that you're trilingual!

I only know how to speak a bit of tagalog, and ilocano.. I'm just an american-born filipino!

Alright... just got my CAI and Muffler today...

The CAI has no brand, but I think it could cost something like $.100 to $.150 new... As I already said it used to be in a CRV, as you can see in the first page of my thread. Everyone has told me that it won't fit in the Yaris, so I think I will sell it, to buy one that is made for the Yaris. Oh yeah, and the filter is completely new.

Then the Muffler is a Aero Turbine Muffler... They cost $.125 to $.160 new... I really liked it, it looks pretty cool and sounds damn nice, and I hope it will look really nice on the Yaris. :w00t:

Of course the parts are used, but I'm very happy cause I got a very good deal... Got them both for $.60 from a friend of mine!!

PD: I still have to clean the muffler, cause it looks very dirty and like the previews owner didn't take good care of it...

Oh yeah.... and I forgot to mention... I still have to get another on of those blue little rubber things for the intake, (forgot it's name lol) cause one is missing, so that it works with the two pieces...
