I have an Alpine HU for which I have been using an Ai-Net AUX RCA attachment to run my satellite radio into the HU. Well, I just purchased and installed a tuner unit to utilize the built in SAT ready functionality, so I wanted to use my Alpine AUX Ai-Net input to run bale to the stock AUX jack that came in my 08 LB. I used a multimeter to check continuity and determined which wires on the AUX jack connector correspond to the sleeve, ring, and tip of the aux cable. However, once i spliced the connector in, I got a AUX input signal level of about 10% of what it was with the stock head unit and an incredibly loud whine in the signal. I checked the AUX jack splice thread, but apparently the connector changed from 07 to 08 because I have about 6 or 7 wires coming out of mine! ANyone have some insight into how to make this work?

Can you post a pic of the connector on your Aux Jack. There are two versions, one with 5 wires and one with 4 wires.

it's the 5 wire kind, but i'll take a pic a little later.

If it's the 5 wire Aux jack with the 8 pin connector, there are four wires in one row and one wire in the second.

In the first, the wires go white, red, black, red, and in the second there is a single black wire in the same column as the white.

The white, red, black in the first row are the left, right and ground wires respectively.

The other red is switched between 2 resistors (2.7K and 15K) to ground when the plug in inserted (2.7K) and removed (15K).

If you grabbed the wrong red, it would explain the issue.

DOH! I bet that's it. I'll rewire tomorrow and post results.
