PULLED THIS FROM TOYOTA:
The Toyota Yaris is known for offering its owners a stylish package, with an emphasis on value. Yaris buyers have creative spirits and when it comes to their vehicle, these owners value a balanced blend of style and feature content to reflect their own personalities. Toyota Motor Sales, USA, Inc. including their own Toyota Corporate Accessories Department (CAD), and some key aftermarket suppliers worked together to showcase an example of how a Yaris 5-Door Liftback can be customized to enhance its youthful attitude.
The Toyota custom Hard Kandy Yaris theme is focused on the female buyer, and shows how customization can reflect ones interest in music, media, and styling elements that are important to the young, independent woman. It also reflects a free-spirited outlook that is attainable for owners who value customization, and want to personalize their vehicle.
Visual Image Systems Co. produced the custom exterior wrap to serve as the foundation for the theme. The wrap incorporates a design in shades of pink, which includes swirling ribbons for movement, and flames to add an element of strength. The exterior wrap is complemented with a sport body kit, Toyota CAD roof end spoiler, and an Inalfa 845 Signature Series built-in sunroof, that features a one touch open and close illuminated switch that allows you to fully open, close, or vent the solar tinted glass panel, and convenient standard auto close. Toyota CAD supplied Pirelli PZero Nero tires and 18-inch maximum contrast wheels with machined and black finish to complete the exterior modifications.
The custom interior showcases Roadwire OEM Replacement Leather Interior and includes factory matching leather trim colors, as well as Alcantara, highlighted with custom embossments to match the interior and exterior graphics, and Toyota Yaris embroideries. Alcantara was used for custom seating trim, door panel inserts, and a complete headliner replacement. GGBailey.com provided custom carpeted floor mats featuring thickly serged edges and computer controlled embroidery depicting the Yaris name in pink, to complement the interior upholstery.
Ground Effects Limited further enhanced the interior by embellishing the door panels and center cluster with a pink lightening design using a seven-stage water-immersion image transfer process that instantly affixes any color, design, or pattern to a non-porous product. The pink lightening on the interior complements the exterior graphics theme and makes a statement that encompasses power, strength, and personalization.
Toyota CAD provided additional interior upgrades including an interior light kit, sport pedals, sport shift knob, and a Blu-Logic Bluetooth hands-free system. Performance modifications include an axle-back exhaust and a Fujita cold air intake system.
A premium audio/visual system was provided by Alpine Electronics of America, Inc. and allows the ultimate control of an iPod through a touch-screen control interface. West Coast Customs further enhanced the technology in the Hard Kandy Yaris by building a media center that dons an in-car computer and media management server provided by VMOD and a 7-inch LCD/TFT high resolution monitor provided by Vizualogic. This system is capable of getting 3G internet service allowing vehicle occupants the ability to stay connected to friends, family, and colleagues.
After its debut at the 2009 SEMA Show, the Hard Kandy Yaris will be used by Toyota, Alpine, and Roadwire for a variety of consumer and industry events.

I dunno, I picture Sailor Moon or any other Japanese Aname characters driving it.
I hope Toyota really looks at their Sema Show feedback and reconsiders.
Is that ALL they (Toyota) could think of ?? Considering the ladies that already belong to this forum and cleary demonstrate through the pics they post and how tasteful they mod their cars maybe Toyota should contact Yaris World with,''ATTENTION LADIES WE NEED YOU HELP''

WTF? Who wants to drive around in a pink car? I'm a girl and I think that's crap. Do you know how much crap I ALREADY get for driving a Yaris?? Seriously ... it's like trying to convince everyone that a SmartCar can be 'cool'... it's tough, we work really hard to level the playing field when it comes to the import mod scene, and then they freakin' do this?!
Ugh.
Thanks, Toyota. NOT.

All I gotta say is thats Toyota Corp. for ya. They sit up on high in their office's and don't realize what is considered a true tuner and what is not. I bet the Marketing Directors daughter said it would be cool to make it look like a pink mint candy.

SEMA isn't open to the public, so you have to be pretty well known in whatever your industry in (car related, of course) to get invited .... I wish they would let a certain number of regular people in ..... I would fight for a ticket lol :)

They did this year. It was the SEMA Enthusiast Program.

toyota seems tobe throwing their cool/trendy budget into Scion, Yaris would cannibalized scion sales if it got too trendy, not sure if that makes sense
with the high CG and light steering, the Yaris was never meant to be a serious performer, and with Scion being the Gen-Y brand, essentially teh Yaris is relegated to econo duty like the Tercel and Echo :iono:

ugh, see i like the swirls.. i would actually want to find a decal of swirls for my car, but THATS IT. The swirls that dip down from the side mirror, IMO would actually look cool if that was it, and if it was a different color. The splotches and background color and over abundance of design, seriously look like puked up candy..

Well remember when SEMA had the Superman Yaris, then this...I think they really dont know how to do cars anymore, they think cute is hott...and its not,
Give me the same Yaris, and a $5000 budget and I can make it have that visage of an Evo, badass looking where many many people would want to buy it. And it might inspire people to stop modding their cars like crap, making them DubRice and such, as this car clearly shows a prime example of.
It seems that they know in Japan that its a tuner car, but think only 16 year old high school girls drive this thing.
Sad really...
I really want to see a Vitzcup ready turbocharged TRDm at SEMA, decked out in a nice set of track rims, and a Recaro seats...maybe throw on a new hood or something to give it a better look.
That would be nice.

I think since the days of "Pimp My Ride" and "West Coast Customs" they have forgotten that often times in car modding - LESS IS MORE. Simple, subtle mods really pop - a clean paint job with a bit of graphic work (just for extra points), lowered, nice set of wheels, upholstery work, audio system, intake, exhaust system, after market heads/tails/hood .... not obnoxious colors, patterns that confuse your eyes and make your brain hurt, riced out mods and big wings (not used here, but just stating as an example many times played out). I don't know what the hell happened to people and their taste for modding cars, but maybe they need to look within people who actually know what they are doing and know the key components in creating a CLEAN ride.
(Toyota, you obviously suck at this.)
