A Meeting is planned for 12 noon on Sunday November 15th. As it stands, we are going to meet at the Palisades Mall and from there take a drive up to the top of Bear Mtn.
Last time we met at Lot J, the "commuter park and ride lot" across from the Home Depot parking area. Seems to be a good start for Sunday.

IMO it's kinda late for a run but I'm down. I just got snows put on after actually being able to push the car up and down the mountain last weekend.
Haha... yea I'm the one who set it up last season. I'm trying to get my car club i'm in to have a final meeting so maybe if I can get them to go we'll have a good run. We should do this the weekend after this upcoming one on the 14th or the 15th

It is kinda late but we met up at the palisades mall last winter (Zefoxe, werent you there?) and it was fine.
The road up the mountain is pretty sweet, I just wonder how long they keep it open.
Racerfreak, if you think you can get your club to come along then lets do it next weekend. The weather is just looking pretty nice this weekend and Im planning on running some trails anyway, so ill be there.

Just gauging interest in a ny/nj/ct meet up possibly this Sunday or another weekend. Last time I hiked it I saw a bunch of old 911's and NSX's congregating. Figured us Yarii could hold it down. Any thoughts?
What? is PA chop liver or something that we're not included??

Depends on the when and where. I'm about 30 minutes from the Jersey line (middle of the state, north-south). I can be to the outskirts of NYC is about a little over an hour (depending on traffic).

DevilGirl, it'll take about hour and 30~50 minutes or so if it takes that long from the city
I'd be down if u guys could get something organized

Well I am planning on going to bear mtn this weekend either way. The weather on Sunday is looking better. If folks wanna meet up and talk shop that'd be cool. And if next weekend brings more folks out I will go then too but it seems this could be one of the last sunny, not freezing weekends left.
Who is down for Sunday?

Not so sure for this Sunday. Perhaps next. I havn't seen what this thing can do on a longer trip (my normally commute is 100miles roundtrip). Plus we're prolly gonna still be working on this older car yet to get that on the road while the new car is in the shop getting fixed (darn curbs and misjudging corners... don't ask).
Where would the "meeting up" occur? I'm trying to convince the boy to join me... Just trying to figure out how far from my place we would need to travel before finding other Yarii. What time too?

Ok so maybe next weekend. Maybe some more people will join. Its always funny to see the number of views a thread gets versus the number of responses.
Meeting at the bottom of the mountain could be cool. Like I said the road up is pretty nice. There are also some good drives in the area.

I'd rather see a "meeting" before going to the mountain. Particularly since I'm not that familiar with that area. I'm originally from NY (Albany/Syracuse/east end LI), but I don't know Peekskill well at all.

Awesome. I was planning on hiking with my dog before the meet! So maybe you guys can come early and well do a pre-meeting hike?
Rockland, weak i know, but we're trying. Hope to see/meet you.
Treyz, Im driving from Brooklyn so maybe you wanna come along to this one too?
Did bobselectric (sp?) get his car fixed yet? He's close by too.
Let keep building momentum on this...

Bob is still working on a few parts last time I checked in with him. I'll keep you guys posted for the set up in the spring.

Hopefully next weekend's weather will be just as nice! I was glad for the warm weather yesterday. Gave me a chance to wash and wax my car again for the winter season. Plus his car we were working on is now on the road again. Yay! The puppy is all ready to go with her hiking gear. I just picked up an excursion dog backpack made by Outward Hound. Plus we have a water bottle with it's own attached dish as well.

Oh and BTW Andy, a little off topic, but if you liked Fallout 3, then you need to pick up Borderlands. Think of Fallout 3 meets Mad Max/Thunderdome meets a slight of Gears. Multiplayer up to 4 players online if you haven't checked it out yet.

Not sure if you guys are aware of this but they have HUGE car shows up there every Wed over the summer so if you guys are ever available for that you should check it out. Great Mountain roads and views (I had to drive through that way when I picked up my new Yaris...just yesterday :)

I'm hoping it would be on the 15th (Sunday). If I can manage to get out to it, Sunday would work so much better for me! We have puppy 2nd grade on Saturdays at 11:30 and then usually take her over to a friend's house to romp around with their puppys and get her energy out.
Oh, and the puppy would be coming along for the run to Bear Mtn as well if we can go at all. Hiking on the mountain, anyone?

are you really gonna come up from PA? it's going to be a small meet, but the mall is probably about an hour to an ahour and a half from you. i'd mapquest it and then decide from there.

If your coming from PA, Im gonna def. feel obligated to go, which is ok. Im fine meeting either place. The multi-yaris cruise would be kinda cool from the mall to the mountain and both are equally far from me (brooklyn). Also, the Mtn is probably slightly closer to PA but if your driving that far there's not much difference.
Devil, get some google map directions and let us know your thoughts. It looks like a two hour drive to me.

The mall looks like a decent place to meet up at. Being not familiar with it, is there any area of their parking lot that has grass? A decent amount, not just one of those little islands between parking spaces.
I would have to agree that having a "convoy" (albeit a small one) of Yarii going up to the mountain would be pretty cool... :headbang:
As far as the fact that it'd probably be about 1.5-2 hour drive each way for me, that's nothing. I do at least an hour each way for work M-F (depending on traffic and if I drive all the way instead of only driving part way and taking public trans the rest).
Timewise, noon-ish sounds pretty good. That way I'm not starting out too early with a boy and puppy in tow...

I'll hopefully get it posted tomorrow night. By the time we got home, it was already like 6ish, and I still had to run over to my dad's house to help him with something. Finally just got home a few ago, but bed calls at this hour due to work in the morning... Blah!

A couple pictures from the "meet"...
The first is of us with our Yarii lined up. It was quite shocking... The only three that showed up also had almost the exact same Yarii...
The second pic is of the boys up on the mountain (my boyfriend is the one with the red hat, and yes, the puppy with the "saddle bags" is mine).
And the funnier part, both of the dogs that were there were named Karley (well, different spellings, but still the same name).
