sideways pics are because of camera phone and too lazy to change the orientation...

this was yesterday, copy and pasted from another forum...

ok i am sick of the idiot drivers in this town... earlier tonight i was getting on to I-90 westbound from pines, merged into "traffic"(all two other vehicles), then had some idiot in a dodge dakota pass me in the merge lane from behind me almost hitting me, swerved, tires lost traction, slid into the center wall... left side totally thrashed, will not even drive...

He was, and look at where that landed him.

At least you are alright! Just today had a 18 wheeler smash into the back of a sedan. Sedan got into the highway at a slow speed when the highway was moving at full speed, and well, stupid lady didn't look or just though "well they will stop for me since I am merging, no rules broken there!", and unfortunately, BAM smashed her back into the rear window and sent the truck to the side of the road.

I have noticed something with accidents, when they dont involve racing, they will always involve a person driving "normal" or driving at below average moving speed/

my control of the vehicle was what kept only my vehicle being damaged, and kept both passengers in my car NOT injured...

BTW thank you so much for flaming... in the future, if you can't talk nicely to me, you will just be ignored...

okay so the insurance is saying that it might be totaled... but craigslist is being my friend today... i found a clone of my car in my town... the only difference is lower mileage and the new one has ac... same year, color, trans...

why?
11-07-2009, 10:18 PM
wow, they totalled it for that? You should go to a body shop and see what they would charge to repair it. Maybe taking the insurance money and paying to repair it would give you a bunch of extra money. It is worth a shot. Especially on a car that will have tons of miles.

No flaming, I really feel you should be thankful to be alive, rather than blaming everyone else in the world for your mistake.

Btw, you can just ignore me, there is no rule telling me you have to give me warning.

I am so confused by your comment .... he didn't do anything but swerve to avoid some idiot who wasn't driving properly....

The dakota "almost hit him" - Even if it was on a 100% collision course with him while passing, moving 5 feet to the left would have been fine. He overreacted, and that's why his car is totaled, not the dakota.

it's a california thing...

Yes, I'd imagine merging on the 101 or the 405 a single time more cars come close to hitting me than a year's worth of driving in, say, rural Arkansas.

I like how when someone posts accident pictures and admits to going 5 to 10 mph over the speed limit, everyone on the forum comes in and gives him the third degree, but when I say someone should be thankful to be alive instead of blaming others for an accident they could have avoided, I'm "mean"

never said that i was blaming "everyone else in the world", just that i got cut off and swerved...

you try an evasive maneuver two days after you go from street tires to winter tires when there is cold weather, moisture, and black ice...

the main difference is my tires... my summer tires are 205/40/17 and my winters are 175/65/14... that distinctly changes the handling of the car and takes a couple days to get used to

i totalled my AW11 on Thorpe Rd between the two tunnels right before 195 back in the day, after making a tire switch.. in combination with someone cutting the blind corner in her SUV.. off throttle oversteer is a bitch.

getting used to new tires sucks :( unless they're R comps.
