Once had a similar occurrence at work, however it was can corn and green beans, not vodka.

I too have seen my share of big amounts of alcoholic beverages going to waste, I remember once seeing the aftermath of a huge spill of 23 pallets of 16 ounce cans, fall; we were finding beer for over 4 months under other pallets of product, and behind other stacks.

Just for some math.
23 pallets x 63 cases per pallet x 24 cans per case = 34776 cans of beer fallen, say 1/3 was damaged, this leaves 115920 cans damaged.

Now say each case sells for $18 at distributors cost.

$2,086,560 is the noted insurance claim for damaged product.

This doesnt include the actual cost to repack the beer that wasnt damaged, man hours and supplies needed.
So say another $2000 or so in supplies, $2000 to pay a guy for 2 weeks to repack the same product over and over again...

Toyota makes forklifts - very well built ones, needless to say. I'm sure that their drivers are more careful.

Maybe it wasn't his fault. He was only following the imported company training video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CV64lW0CTwI

After working for 3 years on random Forklifts, Nissan I think makes the best drivable and easiest to operate in fluent movement forklifts.

And I wasnt just loading and moving stuff around. I was picking up pallets with items on it, loading those items onto a truck from a desired height, then stacking that pallet on another stack 14 high, for about 4 hrs a day. Gets tiresome when you have to use a Toyota with 3 levers, when a Nissan only has 2.
