When: Dec 13, 2009
Where: Auto Club Speedway in Fontana
Why: So we can represent the Yaris!
Who: YOU!
How: Yaris
Okay people, this is the last event for the Cal Club Region for this year. I know some of you have been thinking of going, but haven't. WHY NOT?
It's not bad at all. It's an easy format, with nothing to fear. People are friendly. Sure, we all get nervous our first time out....but then it's fun!
Join me for this last event. (Assuming I make it-LOL- crap, I kind of have to now, huh?) :drinking: Okay, no alchohol, forget that.
Let's go burn some rubber. :burnrubber:

Still waiting on the entry cost. And do they rent-out helmets? Kinda broke to buy one right now seeing as I'm trying to save-up for the Vegas cruise
justjesus
12-04-2009, 02:14 AM
^yup, me too. waiting for more info. Yes, they rent them out. Actually, i think you can borrow them in exchange for your DL or something like that.
Vegas?!?! You are making it out for that? That's gonna be nuts

Speed Ventures usually charges around 80 for a non full track event.
I'm going to be going to the Buttonwillow event on Jan31st.

Jesus, I plan on racing next Sunday. What class do you intend to run in? I'll be doing X runs only so I can almost run at any time.
I want one more chance this year to beat that Jason Gamble guy who raced the only other Yaris I've seen auto-xing in So Cal area.
BTW, the loaner helmets are free if you just leave your DL. They are kinda gross inside so bring your own balaclava or something.

I was laughing so hard at that line my buddy ran out of his room to see what was so funny! (well, he didnt, cuz he's on the phone with his wife in Mexico, but he would have)
I created this thread, so I BETTER be there! My friend (ex crew member  ) is wanting to try it out, so he's gonna be there running same class as me, HS.
Okay, looks like they finally posted the info on that one site (hmm, coincidence that I wrote them an email at 2am, and then they posted the info?). Anyway, Long's got the link on here, but if his doesn't work, try this one.

GARM: Registration IS OPEN now, and it's cheaper to do it online, prior to the event date.
Fees: 30$ online, 40$ at the event. There's also a 15$ fee for weekend SCCA membership pass (that fee can count toward your annual membership).
I'm planning, if I remember, to bring a cooler for drinks. H2O and maybe some soda pop as well. My friends should be bringing an easy up.
Long! let's do this man!!!!!! Jason Gamble is out there, running hard!
Garm, get that little beast  of a car out there!

^ LOL
The Proxes R1R utilizes a motor sport-inspired silica re-inforced tread compound (UTQG Treadwear rating of 140), and a casing construction that features extra-wide steel belts & steel side plies for exceptional levels of wet & dry grip. The aggressive directional tread pattern prevents aquaplaning even at high speeds.

Bring the following:
food and water (there are no vending machines)
blue painter masking tape to tape your numbers on (I have some)
a tote box to hold all the loose stuff you have to take out of your car
spectators can watch for free
you'll have to pay the $15 for a weekend membership to SCCA
the $15 can be used towards an annual membership
make sure your helmet meets their requirements... go to www.solo2.com
LtNoogie
12-11-2009, 08:49 PM
Before you leave home, empty your car of all your junk. Loose stuff cannot be in the car during the race.
I also bring two large plastic tote boxes to store stuff like extra clothing, the tape, that I store stuff in. Those boxes stay in the parking lot while we're running. It's safe, nobody wants your stuff. Also, the tote boxes will protect your stuff from the rain.
I like to wear gloves when I drive. $15 Mechanix gloves from Pep Boys.
