when to do oil change

I've had my Yaris for almost 2 months now and is at 2300kms. When should I do my first oil change? I kinda remember doing it on the first 3000kms but on the toyota website it says 8000kms.

did my first at 4200 miles (6500kms); switched to synthetic so i'm gonna extend the next changes to 6-7K miles.

8000km should be correct, first recommended interval is 5000 miles.

Anytime after 5000km
With the engines today they don't really need a first break in oil change so the dealer recommended 8000km oil change is fine.

Let's say I switch to synthetic. And I bring it in the next time for my 16000km change... with they know it's synthetic and not put in regular oil? Or do I have to remind them every time?

umm heres an idea you tell them you want synthetic!! pretty simple huh!

are you driving a toyota, and in canada?? do you have the owners manual??

Tell them when you take it in you want synthetic. Make sure it's on the work order.
