coasting : 5 door automatic

do you find the 5 door automatic to coast ( glide ) less further than the sedan with an automatic ? The higher rolling resistance would lead to lower m.p.g.. This seems to be the case in our experience with the '08 sedan and a '09 5 door we have . :iono:

must be same tires,
same tire diameter and size,
same pressure, same gross vehicle weight,
(add some potato sacks to the light one)

and ensure zero parking brake binding and no
front brake pad dragging.


in other words, no they should coast essentially the same, but you
need to account for all possible variables. if the difference is significant
then the slow car has some problem.

get the cars on 4 jack stands and fire it up, put in neutral, and rotate
all 4 wheels by hand. you'll find which one is sticky real quick if there
is a problem

both YARIS have the POTENZA and keep tire pressure at 34 > 35 p.s.i. for both .
