Figured I'd do my first post.

I've been lurking since last Feb but didn't join until recently. Last Feb my kid's Escort finally crapped out and she needed a new car. I told her I'd pick out the car but she had to make the payments. Reluctantly she agreed and I went down and picked up a Carmine Red 3dr with Auto/A/C. She was overjoyed when I showed her.

Fast forward a few months. The wife decides she wants a car that has an adjustable steering wheel.:iono: I currently have two of the same make and neither have adjustable wheels so I told my kid I'll give here the one I had special ordered PLUS I'd paint it a color of her choosing in trade for the Yaris. Sooo, after painting the other car PINK for her and swapping the paperwork over I will soon be finalizing the swap this weekend after I trim out the interior for her...more custom paint. FWIW, I have been VERY happy with not having an adjustable wheel on either car. The cars are both great and both are 2008's - one has 38k while the other has 21k, both trouble free miles.

Things planned for the Yaris once it is in my possesion.....

- Cruise: I want to use an OEM Toyota stalk
- Trim out the interior in Carmine red: Thinking of doing the argent pieces and the part around the shifter.
- Armrest: Who has the best armrest out there?
- Racing disc hubcaps: I'm a mileage guy, and I like the looks too.
- Scangauge: I'll morph it into the interior somewhere, did it with one of my other cars and it looks OEM.
- Tint windows
- Paint engine cover Carmine Red
- POSSIBLE two-tone paint: We'll see. Thought about doing the top in silver, still up in the air.

So far this website has had a wealth of info. Thanks.

Even if you don't add springs and shocks to the list...I HIGHLY suggest you adding atleast a TRD rear sway bar to make the car a bit more driveable and stable on the freeways, etc.

That's a great idea. Thanks! I have yet to really try it out on the highway. I've put maybe 200 miles on it over the last 9 months while she has put 12k on it. My current car has stability control, cat back custom exhaust (I made), K&N, custom intake hose between air box (I made). Not sure if I'll do all that to the Yaris. More cosmetic most likely.....unless I do some mileage mods.

Well if you decide to go with the Ultra Racing or TRD 19mm rear sway bars, they won't overkill the cars handling. It will firm it up just the right amount that it feels like it should have come from the factory with it installed! It'll make the overall driving experience better 10x.

The OEM armrest is not level with the door armrests and the fabric feels coarse.
