but really don't like getting only 220 or so out of the next 7...

seems like the last two bars disappear at the same time sometimes!

i wish toyota did a better job of making the fuel gauge more accurate...

Yeah that is kinda weird. I thought that happened because I almost always top-off the tank to the next dollar lol

Also alot of stop & go traffic can mess with your MPG. Shortcuts during rush hour FTW

The gas bar is brutal. The other day I was hovering on my second-last bar for about 20 miles... I fill up, and end up only putting in 32L (out of a possible 40L). A few trips prior, the fifth bar had just disappeared... And I ended up filling with 33L.

Yea, I don't trust the gauge in the least. I use the first trip odometer exclusively to monitor fuel remaining.

Gas gauges have never been anything close to accurate in any car I've driven. You learn their quirks, or you get to walk.

Check out this article and you will see how these things work and you'll understand why it takes so much longer for that first bar to go away.

I find with analyzing scangauge data for "distance to empty", and how much I put in, that when the Yaris gas gauge gets to 4 bars gone, 4 bars remaining, it is exactly 1/2 a tank in real life. and one bar blinking is exactly 1.6 gallons remaining, just as the manual states.

Toyota did engineer the gauge to be very accurate, once it starts to move. They took into account
float-drowning.

Gauge works for me. I just never let it go below two bars ...so I always will get where I am going !

noticed the fuel bar does not update unless u turn off the electrics and back on again
