If you have a local machine shop, they can use a C&C plasma cutter to make lots of them for cheap.

That looks really cool! We've thought about producing a version of that also, but I don't mind partnering up if it helps someone else too!
i never got the point of having a tow hook... is it just something people get for looks or do they actually use it?

something like this would be for looks, MicroImage sells cosmetic ones also, however I had to use my factory front tow hook once when I was stuck in a few feet of snow, lol

I didnt make it for functionality... however it is made of solid steel and its 6mm thick, so Im pretty sure it would work alright in some cases, but with its shape... Im not sure....
The chances of me ever having to actually "use" this hook are slim to none anyways  Just for looks!

mine will be used mainly as an attachment point for the strap holding my kayak down.

Is it a whitewater? I would love to carry my 8 ft kayak, but im afraid of the plastic bumpers breaking with the front and rear straps... I'd need rails.

It is. I need a rack too. I cut styrofoam blocks to fit the shape of the kayak edges so it sits off of the roof.

If the rear one goes well, we'll make a matching one for the front. Why not?
