I see if you get the convenience package, back seat is a 60/40 fold down that slides and reclines. Whats the base HB rear seat like?

Solid, i.e. doesn't split. It still reclines, but it doesn't slide.

get the 60/40 split or you'll regret it! :D

This is what the back seat looks like, if you're lacking the split version.

Inasmuch as I would like to have the split-folding rear seat, I've owned a bench rear seat for a year now and it isn't that bad.

Sure, I'd rather have the versatility; but the hatch is still very usable with the bench rear seat...

Are you concerned about passenger comfort or cargo space?

I wish the base rear seat in my '09 hb wasn't higher than the rest of the cargo area when the seatback is down. I've read somewhere on this forum that an advantage with the 60/40 seats is that they give you a flatter cargo area.

Anyone have a picture of the LB base models rear seat?

Its very roomy, I pulled mine out but it is fine. Are you doing something specific?

Its comfy and roomy...I can fit somewhat tall people back there, I just like the 40/60 split so I can transport long boxes and still have room for a passenger in the back comfortably.

The 60/40 folds flat and has a plastic board that covers the "gap". It's well worth it.

So does the bench.

The split seat definitely makes the 3 door more flexible

Yeah if you are leaving it in, it is handy. I have nothing but front seats myself so I dont miss it. But I never had people and cargo so I guess I never saw the problem.

hmm... my bench doesn't fold flat... if it does, i haven't figured out how to make it do that in the 2 years i've had it. the flap that covers it when you fold the seats down, for me, sits upward at an angle; close to 15-20°.

Yeah thats the cushions, if you have something heavy it flattens out, if not it will be cocked up a bit I agree, a bit annoying. but they did well with the space they were working with I think.

Anyway, I think you have to look at the convenience package in it's entirety to make a decision.

I had a request for pics of the bench seat, so here is mine...

And no, the seat does not fold completely flat, but it's close...

Still, if anyone has a matching split-folding rear seat they want to sell, let me know!

Cheers! M2

Good bench seat pics!
The 60/40's slide forward as you fold them down leaving a 6 inch gap/hole. that's when you flip over the plastic flaps to create a smooth, straight surface.
The sliding feature is good for stuffing the back with longer items like 12 packs of soda, etc.
It's pretty cool in action, almost like watching a convertable top go down....

Is that for the 07? My window sticker says I have the convenience package, but no 60/40.

^Hard to tell. I wanna say you have the base model if you have no 60/40, but then again I've never heard of satellite radio capability on base models either

i don't have sat, either. i guess this is the difference between the earlier conv pkg and a newer "updated" version... everything else, i have.
