Good, then I can get my Dad off my back for buying a Jap car.... The funny thing is he works for Dodge, which is a German owned company, and he bitches at me to buy American, and he owns a Dodge and Jeep, funny shit.

BTW... wonder how I can get a job building Yarii, I think that would be fun

Good, you might actually be able to get options on them then.

Good we can have a yearly meeting of Yaris world at the factory. We did that at Neons.org and it was a blast.

Its a great car. I would guess toyota can't meet the need with the japanese plant. Which I'm guessing was just to build enough yaris's for a test market.

Good to know and hopefully the Yaris will be sold in the future at a lower price in North America, or at the same price but with more features. A clever move to compete with the other cars in the same class, notably the fast improving Korean makes.

I hope that U.S. quality does not go along with the U.S. plants, then the U.S. Yaris will be right up there with the top notch American made.... well, just about American car is a POS...

maybe they'll buy the Ford Ranger plant here in Saint Paul, MN. Ford is closing this plant in the next 2 years as the ranger is phased out. the plant is next part of the mississippi, has its own dam and therefore its own powerplant. its pretty cool, but the Ranger sucks! that would be sweet if toyota moved in.

I agree. I would like to see the quality of the Yaris stay high, no matter where it is built.

youll never get the car any cheaper than it is already... with unions and fare wage practices etc in the US and Canada. Probably why plenty of GM products are sourced in Korea.

You forget that many foreign car makers that have plants here run un-unionized plants. For this reason most of them are in the south. Mazda, Honda, Mercedes and BMW come to mind

I am sure the Atl would give them a deal on the old ford Taurus plant. Closed on Fri 28

I am sure the Atl would give them a deal on the old ford Taurus plant. Closed on Fri 28GM bought that plant if I'm not mistaken. I rarely pass it on I-285 but when I have gone by, I see GM signs everywhere.
