Why not get started? This is the off topic section and you never ever sound off. Why are you anti-Sarah? She's a fellow woman. And she's a little unusual being a woman in the Republican party. And look at the amount of clout she has even with her failed bid for vp. She almost single handedly made the lady running for congress in NY whose name is impossible to remember let alone pronounce lol quit the race.

She learned about verbs and nouns and wrote a book, what's not to like?

but nope, not gonna take that bait ... These debates centered around political figures invariably escalate, why even start?

If you insist ... briefly:

I'll agree that she's attractive, and I'll even grant you that she is a good public speaker, but that's pretty much all the positive I see in her. The rest of her makes me want to :barf: Sorry.

Oh, I'm very aware of our own politics, Ruffstuff, and it makes just as angry. Mister Campbell (in US terms) is a right-wing radical Republican, and, as such, has destroyed local trades, unions, and expanded the bureaucracy to a point where nothing gets done. The Fast Ferry Fiasco, is going to pale in the upcoming Olympics ruckus; I see my great-grandkids still paying for that.

Still, we are a small country, and our leadership makes very little difference on the world stage. Sarah Palin as President could indeed immediately diminish the status of the US as a world power...

How dare you people denigrate the greatest patriot to come along since George Washington? Who uncovered the socialist plot to use death panels in our health care system as a way to kill grandma? Sarah Palin. Who is patriotic enough to distinguish between the "real america" and the freeloaders populating our cities? Sarah Palin. Who single-handedly blew the whistle on the road to nowhere and saved the Alaskan taxpayers many millions of dollars? Yup, Sarah Palin.

Sarah Palin - a real American and the rest of you are just jealous.

Sarah Palin is such an unbelievable candidate, it makes me wonder if she was nominated JUST to make sure Obama got elected. I can't find a rational explanation for choosing her as a VP candidate other than that.

And ditto on O'Reilly and Hannity. Telling me to watch those interviews is like telling me to pour a cup of hot coffee in my lap. No, no, I take that back. I'd probably learn more from the coffee.

The amazing thing is how much freaking media coverage this nobody gets. I mean if people actually gave a shit, there would probably be more than 8 of her books in any given book store. 8000?? No, just 8. (ya that colbert episode had me rolling)

Better than believing bush is smart when he can't even do that...

As for 20% of america being liberal, that is a hard thing to quantify.. As this report states, the percents are different depending on what subject your talking about.

http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/458179/poll_how_liberal_or_conservative_are.html

I'd like to see an actual poll of toyota and honda buyers, specifically lower end models. I bet you would find there are more liberals than the average across america.

Anyone who stands as a conservative is targeted and bullied by anyone on the left.

It's really sad. Conservatives are labeled as bigots, rich assholes, homophobic and generally evil. I have yet to meet any conservatives who meet those characteristics, but as a life long conservative AND a conservative in my mid-20's I am VERY used to the name calling as well as the cookie cutter insults that uninformed 'liberals' throw at me.

Sarah Palin is used to the shit by now, she doesn't care. It's obvious that those who support her couldn't care less about what people say about her .... or, kinda like this thread, don't say. I'm going to go ahead and assume that saying repeated how she makes you sick would only be frustrating because it is never followed up by any actual reason she makes you sick. Empty, non-specific comments don't help progress your point of view, or your agenda it just makes it a worthless conversation that makes everyone seem really uninformed about the topic at hand.

Just my $.02

People are proving themselves to be too dumb to wake up and smell anything, increased government dependency has made people 'comfortable' with allowing elected officials to pretty much do whatever they want, as long as they have a (D) or (R) along with their names they will continue to flock to their leaders.

I don't see where this is straying off the topic myself. The video has circulated long enough for everyone to get the idea of what that airhead had to say, and the US should be very afraid that someone like that could end up in the White House.

As far as "liberals" are concerned, JBougie doesn't seem to realise that there are few actual liberal Americans; most European countries are well to the left of that position, as is Canada. Palin would just be another bimbo in nearly any other political system, or regarded as a certifiable right-wing nutcase. IMHO, the next small step to the Right in the US sure looks like Fascism to me!
