I checked every interval and didn't see any tranny fluid change (not even automatic). Surprised.

It does mention coolant at 100K and then every 50K thereafter.

Spark plugs at 120K.

Other than that, nothing else is listed to be replaced or changed other than oil, tire rotations, and air filters except for inspecting things.

There you can check all your maintenance interval.

Auto transmission is to be changed 96000km >>192,000km >> 288,000km >>384,000km

Thank you guys for the links.
Here in Manila we do a 5000 km interval. The service advisers are insistent on this schedule. Since you use miles, you get 3000kms more between service schedules. You get to save more.

I probably drive my Yaris alot more than most people, and i'm approaching the 128,000km service (approx 80,000 miles) it's a 2008 so really I shouldn't be at this servicing for another 1.5 - 2 years according to the dealer.

it's getting quite expensive, this service i've got:

Maintenance Service (104.99) - Inc oil filter and change
Cabin air filter - don't care, i clean it myself
Manual transmission fluid (37.95) - Drain and fill - not a flush
Super long life coolant (65.95) - Drain and fill - not a flush

208 + tax and thats assuming I don't need brake pads or anything else.

I've followed every service so far in the manual, always on time, never missed anything - no warranties left on the car except maybe major emissions. do I really need to keep doing all this or can I just go with oil changes?

No problems, love the car works great.
thanks for any advice

Jee. Yes, just oil changes.

And take it somewhere cheaper!

Oil & Filter: $26 mobile 1 synthetic, $8 some filter, $15 some quick lube to change it for you.
Cabin Air filter: as long as its there, it doesn't have to be clean.
Manual Trans Fluid: wow, at least you got something cheap!
Coolant: $22 for a gallon, and extremely easy to do yourself over a drainage hole.

I am hopeful swidd was joking.(?) Dumping coolant into the environment is NOT a good idea. Ethylene Glycol is extremely toxic and a relatively small amount can kill a child or small animal who may be attracted by it's sweetness. Who knows where it will end up. Collect it and recycle it. It doesn't take much more effort to be responsible.

I lost a pet cat as a result of my dad not covering up the antifreeze he drained into an oil catch in our driveway. He went into the house to get something and the cat must have smelled it and lapped some up while he was inside.

Dead cat.

I don't see anywhere the timing belt being mentionned
do we have a timing chain in them little engines , or is that something
not mentionned anywhere for interval replacement ????
..
.. found an old subject on the web ..
..
"Power is from the 1NZ-FE 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine familiar from the Scions and the Prius. Here is makes 106 horsepower at 6000 rpm, with 103 lb-ft of torque at 4200 rpm, and drives the front wheels through either a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission. Like most current Toyota engines, it is an aluminum alloy unit with dual overhead cams, four valves per cylinder, VVT-i variable valve timing, coil-on-plug direct ignition, and electronic throttle control. There is a timing chain, not a belt, for lower maintenance. "
..
I guess that answeres my question , timing chain , HOURRRAAAAA !!!

Yup, timing chain likely good for the life of the car.

Saves about $800-$900 every 100K.

OKay you say timing chain is good usually for the life of the car. I have a 2007 with 167,000 miles and was going to sell to someone, and there parents are all over me that I have never had the timing chain changed and that should have been done at 100,000 miles. Now I know belts are 100,000 but I could not find anything on the interval of the chain and what the typical cost of this service would cost if I need to consider it in the price of the vehicle I am selling... Is there anywhere that I can show this person that the timing chain doesn't have a recommended change interval?

No interval I've seen for chain replacement. That's the big advantage to the chain vs a belt is reduced maintenance over the life of the vehicle.

Show them your oil analysis reports! I'd buy your car if I was looking!

What are you replacing the Yaris with?

That is sweet I don't have to worry about a timing belt. My friend's Honda's are a PITA!
Now I need to find out about my Tacoma, belt or chain.

Have them inspected at 400,000 miles.

OK, kinda kidding, but not really. Some highway drivers have gone over 400K with the Yaris on original brake pads. Seriously!

I drive a mix of city and still have 45% on my original pads at 112K.

Hi guys, I just bought a 2009 yaris with 5 speed manual tranny and new at this forum. Does anybody know why we have to change out the tranny fluid at 40k miles, 80k miles ? that seems a very short interval to me most modern engines go 100k miles on manual tranny fluid. And what type of fluid to use, toyota stuff? only? thanks

Same here.

I'm looking to find what maintenance was recommended between 80,000 and 160,000KM...

Here's hoping there's a mirror somewhere.

EDIT
Don't ask how, figured my way through the internet.
Here's what seems like a legit maintnance schedule for yaris 2007
