I can't loosen the f*cking bolt at the top of the shock.
This is what happened to my allen key

Hire a impact gun , worked for me .:thumbsup:

Did you try using a breaker bar on your wrench? Looks like you need lots more leverage.

...or just get the right damn tools... Went to Autozone and picked up a set of box wrenches with a deeper offset. Worked like a charm on the 2nd try... Now I feel like an idiot :redface:

Good thing you got the right tools. Luckily that nut still had meat to grab on
or you would've been in an even bigger mess. Good job! You're installing drop springs I assume?

Thats what happens when you use cheap tools. Get a good allen wrench key and use a pipe on the end. Thats what i did and had no problems.

had a similar thing happen w/ mine
had to use an air impact wrench and a half can of liquid wrench to get the top apart
other option: compress the spring to relieve the pressure on the plate, then hold the plate and use an impact wrench.....had to do something similar to that too....
edit: but now i see you got it apart...
