I know that its been talked about but I would like to know if anyone has used it yet on a yaris. The scion guys swear by it and WR claims a whopping 50+ HP whitch im sure is bull but if it allows for any perforomance gain it might be worth it.

the general construction looks a little shoddy to me

What is shoddy about it? lol
Do you have any links to it/scionlife links too?
Thanks

one of the tubes are a bit "off" if that makes any sense and the welds are tad globby I'll try and get a link from scikotics of a guy with an Xb who is sponsored by WR

I already posted up on this , xA / xb guys are seeing 5-8hp and around 8-10tq . Weapon R web-site also list these sold out till december . http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=15951&highlight=weapon

http://www.scikotics.com/forums/showthread.php?t=52700&highlight=xbgod should be the link to the Scikotics thread. But like I said he's sponsored by WR and might be a little biased. but he has a pic of it installed but he never mentions what kind of more gains he got from it so...

yeah I was on the site earlier but the sold out bit wasnt what bothered me. It was the price and the advertised power gain. that made me scratch my head.

I think those welds look pretty good considering.
That intake manifold looks similar to Garms, but im assuming Garms is better designed since his actually makes more than 2x that power IIRC?

50 hp gain is specifically noted for forced induction and the ability to run much more boost.

This won't fit the yaris, look at the bolt pattern and angle of the throttle body. It would need to be modified to fit at all.

I guess I didnt read it deeply enough but it still seem like a stretch to me.

Are these numbers with boost or NA? If those numbers are NA then it may be worth it to retrofit one :iono:

Bolt pattern is different too? Are you talking about on the TB or where it bolts to the head.

They had to push the log forward to clear the alternator.. skewing the angle of the runners

would have been nice to still make the time to run equal length runners though. I like mine.

Any horsepower increase on your toaster? Seems like it could be legit for NA apps with a ported and polished head.

with all the hype and talk about this, i'm really surprised that someone hasnt gone to a welding shop or even a high school that has a welding program, brought some dimensions and pictures or even a real OEM setup, and had someone build one
hell, for 700 bux, i could find someone to do it. with scrap metal at that. get the aluminum sheet and pipe from metaldepot.com, find a laser cutter or waterjet, or even someone good with a die grinder/router, find someone who can weld it together....and you're done.

take some physics classes along with that welding class and you're golden. Yeah sure, that way can make an intake manifold aesthetically, will it work as well as it should? probably not. Would you even risk losing power, its a very good possibility if done incorrectly.

^^ thats why Garm's is taking as long as it is. Theres alot of design work involved

I'm just trying to find 1 5/8" I.D. piping. Used to be available - I need it for the runners. :frown:

just get a 1zz intake manifold from an older corolla. .. . done and done.

If it wasn't out of aluminum it would be easier, but i talked to him earlier i mean it seems really possible that would be a cheap viable option under ~ $150 if you knew what you were doing.
