In the liftback anyway - pull from the top - very simple.

This is a roofing lining removal service manual, in page IR-58~60 u can find detail information on how to remove the A-Pillar trims.

Here is a link scroll down for a few pictures. I used a flathead wrapped in microfiber with a gentle prying action.
