View Full Version : Custom Springs?

Has anyone found a place that will make custom springs. I want to go with Tokico HTS reds but the AOE TigetTec springs are the best I can find. I'd like a 2-2.5" drop with 6k(336lbs) front 5k(280lbs) rear. I know you may ask why not just get the TigerTec springs and deal with being a bit higher but, I'd like to see if the option is out there & I don't want to deal with replacing my suspension every year for winter with coilover (they corrode horribly in the winter with the salt on the road). I know kngrsll has been looking for stiffer springs too.

I guess that's a no... I'm going to buy some AOE TigerTec's again and cut a coil out. Hopefully that should work the best.

kngsrll found that Honda Fit springs will fit in the rear, I think he got 5k or 6k ones? sounds interesting.

Would a standard 2.5x8 coilover springs fit? I think I'll try that when I get the chance.

I've done some rough calculations and with an 8in spring at a rate of 8k would give you 1.5 inch drop and 5k would give 2.1inch.

yeah, im using yaris tanabe DF210s up front and Fit rear springs from T1R, so 3kgF,6kgR. i would like the front a little stiffer, but the balance is pretty good. Currently, i am not using a rear sway bar. if you do the math, its worth about 150 lbs of rear spring.

i may look for some coilover sleeves for the front and get some eibach ERS springs. i like the split now, so if i get 5 or 6kg front springs, ill just put the rear sway bar back on. so, it would be 6kg front and rear plus a rear sway bar.

if that actually worked we could get a nice aggressive look wile still maintaining performance.

Yeah i just lost some more weight off my yaris and my cusco's are fully maxed out (full drop) and I still have about a 1.5" gap in the front . I was checking summit racing.com and for $60ish per spring eibach make 6"-10" long replacement coilover springs with spring rate from 250lbs/in - 1500 lbs/in. I'll be getting some 6" long with 500 lbs spring rate for the front to really get my ride low and stiff

I think a nice .5" gap would be nice for daily driving, do you know what spring size we would use (inside diameter)?

Not sure what stock inside diameter is off-hand , but I can measure my stock springs(f/r) later when I go out to the garage .

im probably running a half inch up front and an inch in the rear. id actually prefer more like an inch all around. no one cares about how many turn fast goodies you have, if the suspension cant work properly.

did anyone calculate wheel rate in this? lol

Stock spring inside diameter:
F - 2.5 in
R - 3.5 in

but they're not flat like a race spring.
