Hi guys,

So, I sold my TS rims for a good price, and bought my first winter set (15" steels with Fulda 185/60 tires).

Now I'm saving some money to buy new summer set. Here's my dilema:
17" OZ Michelangelo + 215/45 Goodyear F1 GSD3
or
16" OZ Superturizmo + 205/45 Goodyear F1 GSD3

As you can see, there is a some difference in wheel diameter and tire width.
The difference in weight for one rim is about 3kg.

At the same time I'll put some Eibach Pro kit springs or some Tein springs (I can get them with some great discount).

Just for the record, top speed of 160kph is enough for me, but i can't never get enough acceleration and handling.

And for a second, let's forget about wheel weight. Will smaller diameter tires alone improve acceleration?

After this mods, I'll go for aFe CAI, NST underdrive pulley and custom exhaust.

Yeah, I'm following Castrex steps

And yes, happy holidays to all of you :drinking:

I've seen a lot more people who bought 17s complaining and wanting to go down to 16s, than the other way around.

3 kgs is a ton of extra rotational mass.

With the 17" tire your speedo will read 1.5% slower than the stock diameter tire (205/45/17), so you are going the wrong way here, even if by just a little, but you will have a cushier ride

With the 16" combo your speedo will read 4.1% too fast. The TS has a very short geared tranny and the 16" combo will make you feel that you have shorter gearing at the loss of top speed. So this combo will give you a faster way through the torque curve, improving your "drag starts"

If you want the look of a 17" and a lower gearing feel than stock like your 16"s, try 225/35/17. I have Yokohama A510's and they are awesome in handling, wet or dry! And they look good to boot once you lower your car with the new springs! I have a go-kart with this combo. Have a look...

Good info mate :)

But we have some bumpy roads here and though your car looks sick with those rims, I'll stick with those 16x7" rims. It's the same diameter as yours but with less tire width.

How is your mpg with these 225, comparing to stock?

Thanks! We invented bumpy roads and we export them... I think

MPG should not be hurt that much in theory.... but since you have a more lively ride, you tend to press the gas pedal a bit more... end result, you have more SPG (smiles per galon)

They "look" close to the TS wheels with a bit more offset and width... that is why I chose them... thanks!

I forgot to ask, what's the offset on those? And what's the rim width?
