Hello!

I am trying to install an aftermarket remote start/keyless system in my '08 Manual Yaris sedan. I bought the EX-Start 45 system, found on this page http://209.240.24.217/products.html. My buddy and I tried installing the system but could not get the system to start. We got the keyless to work, but no remote start. The car does not appear to have the security chip in the key, the spare key I have is solid metal. The system is supposed to work with manuals by having it memorize a sequence.

The starter manual states that the car should run for 1 minute after turning the key off, then to open and close the door, then click lock on the remote yo save the sequence. However, the car never continued to run for 1 minute, it would just shut off. Do I need to hook up the bypass wire to something even though I don't need it?

The only other wires we did not hook up were the arm/disarm wires for a security system, which the car does not have.

Any insight would be helpful. Spent a whole day workin on this with nothing to show for it. :(

Thanks!!

Make sure the tach input is hooked up to the correct place. I just posted a wiring guide that shows the proper location for all of the connections.

WOW... That is one sick guide. I wish this was available a few days ago. Thank you so much for this. I haven't looked through the entire guide yet, but what I have seen is impressive. Pictures are a HUGE plus. Again, thank you so much!

My remote start didn't come with a hood switch. Can I just ground the wire?

On most remote starters the hood pin switch grounds when the hood is open (so you let it float to bypass it).
