"The small, efficiently packaged Yaris is Toyota Europe's best seller..." :w00t:

I'm not really impressed because I fail to see what's so special about it. It looks the same compared to our current models: same old basic idea with same old differences in certain details.

The rear lights just keep getting uglier and I don't get the silver door handles. Does it really lower costs to paint them all silver and not the vehicle-specific colour, cause IMHO they don't look any better.
The Yaris is one of the oldest cars in Toyota's current line-up here so I see why it needs some refreshing, but it seems refreshing for the sake of it... Nice to see they're updating the engines though.
What worries me is that they seem to have dropped the TS. Sad to see the most potent member of the Yaris family axed for the sake of lower CO2 figures.

As it turns out from the Toyota press release (http://issuu.com/mar6o/docs/yaris_2010_press_release), not all models get silver door handles. Which is nice.

with the recent loses of the auto companies we will unfortunately have to get used to slower rates of actual new models I'm afraid

If the high number of TDI VW's seen here is any indication then a diesel powered Yaris could be a hit here in Canada.

Those wheel covers are ugly IMO. I like the shift knob though...

I like the euro center stack better, and the steering wheel audio controls. Not a fan of the silver door handles though.

Dang it! They're getting the push-to-start, better ac/heater control knobs, and leather on steering wheels for a 2010?!! I have a 2010 and I don't have those items. grrrrrr!

You might want to do a euro conversion before being disgusted.

Push-start (along with remote keyless entry), automatic A/C (that's why the buttons are different) and leather steering wheel have been available as optional extras and standard on better models ever since the current Yaris was launched in Europe in 2006. Also, the stereo is better integrated here (no black plastic inserts). On the other hand, it does make upgrading the HU a bit more difficult.
Don't you just hate us?

oooh, nice. I wonder if it helps get them better fuel numbers.
dang, they butchered the tail lights big time

I would love to get the 6-speed diesel, and with the optional particle filter, maybe it will come to the US(I can at least dream).
