Do tires get wider as they get bigger? Is a 15” wider than a 14”?
I’m wanting to upgrade the suspension in the car and I was thinking
that a wider tire might improve handling. First of all is that true?
Secondly, is there much difference in those two sizes?

tires can have widder and narrower dimensions in any rim size, you can get 15" tires, with a width of 5 inches, and you can get 14 inch tires with 8 inch width, and you can do just the oposite if you wanted,

another thing you can vary is the overall diamater of the tires, this will have the greatest affect when applied to a car, the taller the tire is, the more distance it will travel across the ground in one turn, throwing off your spedometer, and top speed that is achievable.

and the width will also effect your car, with the wider tire giving you better traction, but at the same time will take greater force to turn the wider tire

hope that helps ;)

well now I'm really confused. What you said makes sense and all, but what
I should do - I have no idea.

In the racing area one guy said that shocks and tires were the most
critical mods to do for the track. I'm not going to race but I think if
these two components yield better handling on the track it probably will
do the same on the road.

There should be prepackaged sets for stupid people like myself - kind of
like Granimals they used to make for kid clothes. Do they still make
those things? Anyone know what I’m talking about?
