Hi,
What are the Extended Warranty Options for a 2009 Yaris that Toyota offers? I heard Gold and Platinum Packages I believe? Any idea what they are, or where to go to, to look them up? Thanks!

dealers offer different packages for different prices. You can get the same ex. warranty at different dealers for totally different prices.

Yeah it just depends. I think I got 2 extra years 20,000 miles extra or something like that for 20 more a month on my payments.. someone else got the same thing somewhere else for more like 40 but.. i guess it just depends on location.

Anyone who's owned a yaris for any amount of time will tell you that extra warranties are a complete waste of money. Especially for the drivetrain. Even the member with 400,000+ miles on his '07 wouldn't have used it. These cars are bullet proof.

I paid $659 for 7/75,000 Platinum with no deductable. Glad I did. Who knows what troubles could crop up with things like drive by wire throttle and electric steering?
My Mom's '06 Corolla's water pump started leaking like 3 months ago. The car only had 16k on the clock! It was fixed for FREE under the extended warr.
I'm glad I bought it, you never know...:iono:

At 16k it was fixed under the original warranty, which is standard on the car.
I agree with Kal-el, if it doesn't break by 36k, there's a very slim chance of it breaking between 36 and 72k. I've had zero warranty work done, and nothing besides maintenance items and I'm at 80k. The 700 dollars you paid for the extra warranty goes a long way to fixing a yaris. I'll most likely be well into the 200k mile range before I spend 700 outside of wear and tear items.

the people who sell those warranties know that the biggest issues will, as a rule, occur beyond even those extended warranties.
a complete waste of money, IMO. adding to a car payment for an extended warranty seems crazy to me.
Hyundai or Kia, id say sure that 100 k worth of warranty may come in handy. Yaris, no.
