Anyone who claims to care about global warming or the environment or any of that ecoterrorist garbage shouldn't step foot in a plane. One of the planes these people use spout more garbage than countless numbers of passenger cars they deride...

Al Gore primarily by establishing the biggest hoax in human history - "global warming". While he uses many, many times more energy than the average citizen not even counting his constant private jet flights.

237 are millionaires, not "over 250"
1 person makes over 250 million, not "5-7"
I agree there's a problem, but here's the devils advocate question: "why wouldn't you want someone who is 'good with money' in the congress? would you rather have a bunch of people on welfare?"

:help:
Uhm, where have you been? You honestly believe that garbage?
So, is it nice and toasty up in Canada?
The world's been getting colder for the last 10+ years during the very time that this hoax has been pushed. Scientists were recently found to have had any opposing study findings that suggest the earth is not warming to either have been hidden or the scientists themselves are helping promote the liberal agenda.
To suggest that humans can change climate is ludicrous. It suggests that we are gods. A natural volcanic eruption for example emits far more crap into the atmosphere than we could ever dream of emitting from our cars, our manufacturing, or anything else. Such events have happened since the earth was created and it's been fine.
Climate changes constantly. How do explain the swings from warm temp's to the ice age and back again? Prehistoric Hummers? Give me a freakin' break. Forecasters can't even get the daily weather right and you believe they can forecast decades ahead? When they say the world will raise 2 degrees in the next 50 years, you believe them? And if it does, who cares? We can not stop it. Only God has the power. That said, the earth and space functions at it's natural will. What happens happens from nature.
"Global Warming" is nothing but a power grab agenda designed to allow government to control every aspect of our lives especially when you add in the proposed "health reform". Those two things together puts all control into the hands of the government because everything can be related to energy and health.
I'd love to hear your proof that global warming is a legitimate man made concern.

OK.
Question is really if you think climate change is based on human actions.
Like I said, climate constantly changes and has seen huge swings throughout world history even though the industrialized age has only been about a 100 years. So how do people explain pre-industrial climate change? It's really just plain silly to suggest that driving cars is warming the planet while we're experiencing one of the coldest years of the industrial age. Florida's pipes are freezing for god's sake.
Just open your eyes.
Doc Zaius
01-14-2010, 06:46 PM
... Question is really if you think climate change is based on human actions...
Yes, I do... but not solely. Obviously climate change can and does happen by itself, as it has for millions of years. But human activity can certainly influence it. We are affecting the rate of climate change.
I don't want to start anything here. Like I said, I'd love to be wrong. We'll see.

to that i say have those corruption prone officials put in jail for a minimum of 25 years for taking any type of item/gift/money etc illegally instead of slapping them on the wrist with a suspension/making them resign/putting them on house arrest for 3 days in their mansions. same thing with minimal punishment for illegal drugs. The chinese government frequently gives out death penalties for drug trafficking, and their drug problems are under control. the u.s. has repeat offenders because drug suppliers arent scared enough. all their buds frequent the slammer on short stints, and they know they get out soon. im not saying shoot everyone that makes a mistake, but put the fear of God in them by making an example of druggies through long sentences. and yes it would cram our jails for the next 50 years, but the long term benefit after that would far outweight the inconveinience at first.
sorry if im threadjacking:)

Good ideas there. Most bureaucrats (public officials) I have met have few morals, and were it not for fierce penalties, could be easily bought. Most are not worth the money they are paid now, never mind increasing their salaries.
The big reason for light penalties for drug dealing seems to be the fact that the market is so huge. If drugs were decriminalised, the profit to criminals would disappear, just like it did with alcohol so many years ago; why must we re-learn this lesson, at such great expense??
My feeling is that we should just pitch them in jail, regardless of the overcrowding. If they don't like it in there, then stay the hell out, simply by making an honest living and sticking with legal products. I really don't care if they have to hotbunk, two at a time, just stay out in the first place...

Taxpayers pay $101,000 for Pelosi's in-flight 'food, booze'
Speaker's trips 'are more about partying than anything else'
Posted: January 29, 2010

Part of the tab for alcoholic drinks on a congressional trip arranged by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi
It reads like a dream order for a wild frat party: Maker's Mark whiskey, Courvoisier cognac, Johnny Walker Red scotch, Grey Goose vodka, E&J brandy, Bailey's Irish Crème, Bacardi Light rum, Jim Beam whiskey, Beefeater gin, Dewars scotch, Bombay Sapphire gin, Jack Daniels whiskey … and Corona beer.
But that single receipt makes up just part of the more than $101,000 taxpayers paid for "in-flight services" – including food and liquor, for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's trips on Air Force jets over the last two years. That's almost $1,000 per week.
Documents obtained under the Freedom of Information Act by Judicial Watch, which investigates and prosecutes government corruption, show Pelosi incurred expenses of some $2.1 million for her use of Air Force jets for travel over that time.
"Speaker Pelosi has a history of wasting taxpayer funds with her boorish demands for military travel," Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton said today. "And these documents suggest the Speaker's congressional delegations are more about partying than anything else."
Pelosi, D-Calif., recently joined President Obama on a Judicial Watch list of Top 10 corrupt politicians because of her "sense of entitlement," the group said.
"Politicians believe laws and rules (even the U.S. Constitution) apply to the rest of us but not to them. Case in point: House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and her excessive and boorish demands for military travel. Judicial Watch obtained documents from the Pentagon in 2008 that suggest Pelosi has been treating the Air Force like her own personal airline," the evaluation said.
And WND reported almost a year ago that Pelosi was shown to have been erratically canceling and rescheduling flights, as one would with an on-call taxi service.
Do the tone-deaf lawmakers in D.C. make your blood boil? Read all about Washington and its politics of corruption in "Breach of Trust."
"We have ... folks prepping the jets and crews driving in (not a short drive for some), cooking meals and preflighting the jets etc," said one Department of Defense e-mail then.
Another official sent an e-mail questioning a series of Pelosi's requests for aircraft.
"Any chance of politely querying [Pelosi's team] if they really intend to do all of these or are they just picking every weekend?" it stated. "[T]here's no need to block every weekend 'just in case'..."
The e-mail noted that the speaker's office had "a history of canceling many of their past requests."
Yet another e-mail exchange at that time revealed Pelosi's demand that jets pick her up at Travis Air Force Base rather than San Francisco's airport.
"She lives about 1.5 hours from SFO and much closer to Travis. … Whether it is the best use of assets is not the question. But instead is it worth upsetting the speaker. …"
Said another, "This is a battle that we are bound to lose if we tell the speaker('s) office. In the end, this is what will happen. I wish that I could say this is a one-time request, but we know it will probably happen again in the future."
Yet another indicated a deep level of frustration:
"Here is the laydown: there are five G5s. Two are broke. Two off on CODELS. One slated for priority White House… we should keep on G-III for now for Tuesday afternoon and start sacrificing goats and chickens."
Judicial Watch said the newly obtained 2,000 pages of documentation show Pelosi's military travel cost the U.S. Air Force $2,100,744.59 over two years – including $101,429.14 for in-flight expenses, including food and alcohol.
Among the newest highlights revealed:
* Pelosi used Air Force aircraft to travel back to her district at an average cost of $28,210.51 per flight. Of 103 Pelosi-led congressional delegations (CODEL), 31 trips included members of the House speaker's family.
* One CODEL traveling from Washington, D.C., through Tel Aviv, Israel, to Baghdad, Iraq, May 15-20, 2008, "to discuss matters of mutual concern with government leaders" included members of Congress and their spouses and cost $17,931 per hour in aircraft alone. This flight included the purchase of the long list of alcoholic drinks.
* According to a "Memo for Record" from a March 29-April 7, 2007, CODEL that involved a stop in Israel, "CODEL could only bring kosher items into the hotel. Kosher alcohol for mixing beverages in the delegation room was purchased on the local economy i.e. bourbon, whiskey, scotch, vodka, gin, triple sec, tequila, etc.
Pelosi's office could not be reached for comment. The answering machine said the office would be closed until Monday, and the mailbox was full, so no messages could be left.

It is a security issue that she has nothing to do with.
For one thing, Pelosi has received too many death threats from right wing extremists for her to routinely fly from CA to DC on comercial flights.
She is the third most important person in the US government.
The decision for her to fly military AC was made by a a security chief who has been in place for the past 11 years and neither Pelosi nor the Obama administration has anything to do with it.

it is usually entertaining to find out the people who think the government is good are usually just children. Don't get angry at them, they don't know what the real world is.

According to the documents, which we obtained through the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), the Speaker’s military travel cost the Air Force $2,100,744.59 over a two-year period — $101,429.14 for in-flight expenses, including food and alcohol.

need to practice what they preach . See where President OBAMA may allow to drill for oil off the east coast . Maybe in return he expects a healthcare bill to pass .

Something sure needs to be done about the health-care crooks...they charge around $30k for each infusion treatment for my dad, and if that isn't thievery enough, they sometimes decide they need to charge $180.00 to carry the medicine from one floor to the next. Scum.

the $6,000 a month charged to nursing home clients is a crime as well . From our experiences they do very little as possible to assist the elderly . One occurrence was a elder woman that fell and hit her head on the hall floor . There is a concrete floor under a thin carpet . Heard the thud of her head done the hall . Went to help and said to nurse that they should take her to emergency room to get X-ray . Was told to never mind my own business  . Wasn't long after that she passed on :frown: . She was always a pleasure to see when we visited the home to see a relative who resided there . This puts a heavy burden on economics . Especially since people live longer and the more care needed as they (we) age . Hate to think what the future holds .
