Why do you want blue headlights?

For one thing, they would be illegle.
Also, you woud have poor visibility at night.

If you want bulbs with a slight blue cast I afraid afraid you will have to convert to HID to give you adiquate light for safe night night vision.

Ok, you probally want some sort of hyper white bulb that has a slight blue cast. Look for a bulb that has a color temp above about 4200k.
If you do a lot of night driving I would not go above that unless you go HID for safely reasons,

go get some silverstars or whatever they are called.... you wont get a nice blue headlight color without HIDs unless you get film and that is a big ole NO NO with the PO PO.

an 8000k is what you're looking for, 6000k would barely have any real blue cast at all.

Lots o' luck seeing anything in the rain /fog etc with holgen bulbs with that high a temp.

To Yoda..... The brigh "blue" headlights you see on the highway are HID.
They over come the lack of visability by a big increase in candle power.

Yoda. I useto have Raybrig halogen bulbs which were rated at 4800k and had a hint of blue in it. They stopped manufacturing those, but you may find one somewhere online ($60+)....otherwise go w/ Nokya bulbs from Garm or HIDs rated 8000k. I have 6000k HIDs and they are slightly blue but mostly white~

i would do the whole hid conversion but i am not good with wires.

The HID conversion is easy, but gives a lot of glare unless you can shield them and adjust cutoff, which is tricky. Garm sells hyperwhite bH4 bulbs which will do what you want, and still give excellent visibility.

Silverstars aere only marginally different from regular halogens, and will dissapoint anyone wanting a more "HID" look.
I don't think you have to go to 8000K to get a nice bluish tint, as 6000K looks good too (closest to oem hid's, like BMW, audi, etc), but I I have had excellent results from my 8000K's in projectors housings.

I made the mistake of assuming yoda knew the downfalls of temperatures over 6000k, if he wants a brightness as bright or better than stock then yes an HID kit is necessary, not to mention cheap and easy.

Yoda, I'm a total idiot at anything wire related...and i installed Garm's HIDs myself...easy.

It is all plug and play, no soldering or anything. If you have sandpaper and a screwdriver, and a socket wrench...you are golden to do this install.

Yeah silverstars are a waste of money. I bought a pair only cause they were on sale for 25 for the set after mail in rebate. One burnt out it cost me around that much to replace it after about 8 months. Month later the other one burnt out. I just threw the old factory one i took out back in. So now i have one light slightly whiter than the other but they are nowhere near that HID blue hint look.

For what i have paid already now i might as well or could have bought garms HID kit. Which i plan to once the other one burns out. Probally will last substantially longer too.

I had some Luminics Titanium White (5500k). They were cool, lasted long until I removed it for a few weeks then put it back in; then it blew. Not sure why.

I saw this silverstar issue on the internetz and got a pair anyway (not looking for blue, I wanted bright)

I was 100% careful installing, white cotton glove, never ever touched the glass anyway. One burned out in 11 months, then other one burned out a week later.

My stock bulbs from toyota (this is on my 4runner) lasted 9 years !

silverstars work, but they work by making the element mighty thin, hence brighter, and they burn the hell out faster than the money you spent on them

do not want
would not buy again

This one is a 6K HID set:

It looks more white from the side.

Look if you are looking for that HID look, but don't want to spend alot. Go to this website. www.Luminicsusa.com The best bulbs you can buy.

I have the blue ones in my Mustang, Yaris, and Honda. They work really well and they have the same look as 8000k HID for half the price.

Just a note: remember to look at the Wattage of the Bulb before you install it....
Higher Wattage, More heat produced ~ might melt your headlight or connector if it's too high....

Stock bulbs are usually 50W~60W....

Same here. The single HID is so easy to install, you can't possible have a problem. Bixenons (hi/lo) are a bit more complex, but still pretty easy, but most everyone tends to find the hi-beams to be unuseable due to the poor pattern from the reflectors. Halogen hi-beams are never focused worth a crap, since the bulbs are piggy-backed, thus off-center. Single HID is easy, cheap, and very effective. Once you use the HID lows, you'll never need a hi-beam.
You will probably need to re-aim your headlights a bit lower to avoid blinding other drivers with your glare. Ideally, you'd retrofit projectors, but that's another story.

whats a TB? lol

6k is a nice enough hint of blue compared to regular lights but not super blue to attract the unwanted of attention from cops.... at least not for the color.... havnt had any issues with mine yet.... love the bi-xenon. very easy to install.
