US '09 5-Door LB: How do you remove the steering wheel?

Ok, I have an '09 5-door LB. How do I remove the steering wheel? I've gotten as far as taking that 19mm bolt out in the center.

I've tried pulling the wheel out, but it won't budge.


I removed the steering wheel on my '07 LB and didn't need a steering wheel remover tool. I don't remember the exact steps I followed though when I did that.

does anyone know if we can just take the top cover of the steering wheel without touching the airbag..just want to paint it..

If you mean the face of the steering wheel with the chrome Toyota logo, then no. You would have to pull the airbag, and then drill out the rivets that mount the cover to the frame of the airbag assembly to separate it.
